Another rounded 90 for you! I think you have had more such days than even what they have reported at the PHL Airport! You must be in a really good heating area - no other obs in Berks County reported over 86
-
We've already had some light showers across East Nantmeal with .02" in the bucket so far. Some more showers are possible as we go through the day across the County. Temps will average a little below our normal highs in the upper 70's for much of the week - temps should return to near normal toward the weekend. Our record high for today is 95 degrees from 1938. The record low is 49 degrees from 1924. The daily rainfall record is 1.38" set back in 1905.
-
58.6 for the AM low. A few more clouds today but still a nice day with temps remaining in the below normal 70's for high temps across much of the County. The record high for today is 99 degrees set in 1918. Record low is 46 degrees set in 1964. Daily rainfall record is 1.50" from 1942.

What a perfect day at the beach in Sea Isle City. The sea breeze kicked in and has now dropped us down into the upper 60's following an earlier 75 degree high temp. Also, not too shabby of a day back in the hills of Chester County with those upper 40's DPs over at KMQS last hour.

The low this morning in East Nantmeal was 56.2. Our chilliest low since the 55.4 on June 24th. However, lower spots like a lake level at Marsh Creek bottomed out at 51.8. Top 10 summer weather weekend on tap across the County today. We should see below normal temps at least through next Friday. It looks a little wet starting Monday night through Tuesday. Record high for today is 99 set in 1918. Our record low is 43 degrees set back in 1930. Daily rainfall record was the 4.17" just 4 years ago in 2018.
-
64.3 for the AM low this morning in NW Chesco. Nice stretch of cooler weather across Chester County with temps unlikely to reach 80 degrees for at least the next week especially across the relatively higher spots. After a near perfect weekend, we get into a pretty wet pattern with Monday through Wednesday being the wettest days. Our record high for today is 101 set in 1900. Record low was 45 degrees in 1930. Daily rainfall record the 5.22" that fell today in 1955.

After today's high in the low 80's there is a good chance much of Chester County PA will see high temps getting no higher than the 70's for the next week or so. This nice stretch of below normal weather will be a welcome change! Of note although our recent stretch was above normal and very uncomfortable. It looks increasingly likely that overall the summer months (June-July-August) at most of the Chester County reporting sites will average pretty close to a normal summer. Our record high for today is the 101.5 set today back in 1900. The record low was 48 degrees from 1974. The daily rainfall record is 1.14" set in 1982.
-
The next couple of days should be only slightly warmer than normal before we begin a stretch of below normal days. Low temps should reach the 50's both Friday and Saturday across most of Chester County. Our record high temperature for today is 99 degrees set back in 1900. The record low is 45 degrees from 1972. The daily rainfall record is 2.40" set in 1912.

My poorly sited roof top Tempest did record it's highest temp this year at 92.7 degrees!!! All sites in Chester County were over 90 degrees. Only the Berks County high elevation site and KMPO could match the icy grasp of East Nantmeal Township with temps under 90 degrees!! My well sited thermometers both the Davis VP2 and the Ambient station could do no better than 88.7 on the VP and only 88.5 on the Ambient. Appropriate siting and equipment always wins! However, I do think I need to start selling summer vacations to the cool oasis that is East Nantmeal next summer! How the heck can I get these thermometers to deliver a friggin 90 plus day??
-
As suspected most spots over 550ft in the county did not touch 90 degrees yesterday. Today for some of those same spots...this could be our last chance at a 90 degree day for a while and possibly until next summer! Our record high for today is 99 degrees set back in 1909. The record low is 49 set back in 1989. The daily rainfall record is 5.57" from 1942.
-
Temps near 90 are possible both today and tomorrow across many spots in Chester County today. Favored spots to reach the 90 degree mark will be locations below 550 feet asl. The record high for today is 100.5 set back in 1900. The record low is 47 degrees from 1989. The daily rainfall record is 1.81" from 1910.
-
Very few 90's across most of Western Chester County today....best we could do was 86 at KMQS and 85.1 at East Nantmeal. It does look like KPTW in Pottstown hit 88 degrees.
-
As you ascend the Welsh Mountain anticline as you near my house....I do tell folks to have the oxygen mask at the ready....just in case!
-
I suspect our last chances of a 90 degree day across the higher spots of Chester County will be over the next few days. If we fail to see a 90 degree reading by Tuesday PM that may be it until next summer. Still only 1 rounded up 90 degree day in East Nantmeal this summer! Today's record high is also the hottest temperature ever recorded in Chester County with the 107 degree reading today back in 1918. Our record low is the 49 degrees set back in 1997. The daily rainfall record is 1.58" set back in 1913.
-
I think next summer I may start renting my house as a summer destination retreat!!!
-
Another 0.35" of rain fell yesterday in East Nantmeal. So we are already over 2.5 x of normal rainfall through the first 5 days of August. We are also exactly normal regarding temperatures so far here in the month. Our record high today is a toasty 104 set way back in 1914. The record low is 45 set in 1957. The daily rainfall record is 2.17" from 1938.

I was not in Chester County last night but according to some neighbors it was a pretty intense thunderstorm. My power appears to have briefly gone out around 730pm and looks to have impacted my rainfall amounts. I am not local to read the manual gauge...but my Tempest station measured 1.24" of rain last night. My wife heard from a neighbor who measured over an inch....any other folks with that much rain last evening? Most locations across Chester County did record a 90+ day yesterday. Unsurprisingly in East Nantmeal we could do no better than 88.1. Still just one 90 degree day this summer! Today's record high is 99 set in 1930. Our record low is the 45 degrees in 1951. Our daily rainfall record is 1.41"
-
Of note both KMQS and KPTW both made it to 91.4 today for their hottest temps so far this summer yet for both only their 8th day over 90 all summer! Here in NW Chesco in East Nantmeal....only my poorly sited rooftop Tempest station could record a 90 plus day with a 91.4 high today. Unsurprisingly the well sited stations both the VP2 and Ambient units at my location could do no hotter than 88.1 and 88.2 respectively. Proper siting always wins! I am not home to measure rain and the VP seems clogged but the Tempest has recorded 1.17" of rain so far with the storm....not sure I buy it and of course will wait for the coco bucket measure to use as climate data. As you all know I am I suspect the biggest climate data fact weather weenie on this site and trust me I will of course be sure to update the data when I get the "official" reading.
-
You need to move to the Chester County climate to escape those pesky 90+ days!!
-
Amazing how warm you run there compared to Chester County! East Nantmeal only 86.8 / KPTW airport 87.1 / KMQS 89.6 / Elverson and Downingtown (Hawk Hill) 89.6 - Even the hottest place with UHI contamination PHL airport is only 93
-
Today will likely be the only likely day for at least the next week that the county will have a chance at a 90 day. Down in Philadelphia they are at day #3 today with a likely 90+ streak that will reach 8 days just from this current heat wave. If suburban airports at Coatesville and Pottstown hit 90 today....they would have only seen 8 days at 90 or above.... all summer! Our record high today is 98 degrees from 1944. The record low is 47 degrees in 1951. The record daily rainfall record occurred just 2 years ago when we received a 5.83" deluge in 2020.
-
Through today we are actually very close to about average summer time (June-August) across almost all sites in Chester County....no doubt at PHL it will end up being a blazing summer. I suspect that warming trend with UHI at the airport will not be changing for any summer soon!
-
We warm to slightly above normal today before our only shot at 90 with the coming "urban area heat wave" will be tomorrow when many spots should again touch 90 for one of the few times this summer. Our record high today is 96 degrees from 1937. The record low is 48 degrees from the summer of the Phillies collapse - 1964. The daily rainfall record is 1.36" set way back in 1898.
-
Yep...while in the burbs....
-
Our record high for today is 100 degrees set in 1955. The record low is 47 degrees from 1959. The daily rainfall record is 2.00" set back in 1950. Only made it to the low 70's yesterday. With now 6 of our last 7 days featuring below normal temps across our county. However, temps will begin to warm to slightly above average both today and tomorrow before we have our next chance at a 90 degree day on Thursday. After that we will see some unsettled weather as we head toward the weekend with temps back down into the 80's. Still no "heat waves" in East Nantmeal this summer.
