It looks like today will be our 11th straight below normal day. In fact these 1st 3 days of May have been the coldest start to this month since 1945. It is the 3rd coldest start since 1894. Behind only 1945 and 1939. It looks like we have at least 2 more below normal days before warming to near normal by Saturday. Records for today: High 91 (1913) / Low 31 (1909) / Rain 1.75" (1954)

It looks like a pretty wet weekend is on the way for the area. Rain should spread from southwest to northeast across the county this morning and continue pretty heavy into tomorrow morning. It looks like over an inch of rain is likely for much of the county with this 1st round of rain (see below). A 2nd round of rain looks to move in by Sunday morning with a chance of another 1" plus of rain. All of this represents some much needed rain for the local farmers and all of our lawns! Temperatures will continue to run well below normal through at least the next week as we roll into the first week of May.

100% agreed!! I don't know how anyone can deny climate change....climate has always and will always be changing (cyclical climate change is real). Now if you believe it will never swing back to a cooler period of time at some point in the future - that we do not know.

I have #5 up but not yet mounted in Sea Isle City. I like the others have given up on roof mounts. I will find a way to mount it off my deck (maybe some sort of arm to swing it out a ways) Like others have said above while the unit itself has lots of issues.....the customer service team is great!!

Summer average temperature changes by decade for Chester County, Note that West Chester's average summer temp in the 1890's was exactly the same as the first decade of the 2000's. Again a clear warmer - cooler - warmer summer pattern - rinse and repeat but no discernible material trends. The bolded numbers are specifically for West Chester but all of the other stations reported the same trends

I assume you mean the 1930's were warmer than the first decade of the 2000's. To clarify the actual coop data from all 4 locations recorded warmer temps in that decade than 7 decades later. Only if you adjust the actual data can you make it look warmer for the 2000-2009 period just the facts Charlie.

When in doubt tell us what you feel living here for 40 years....I will stick to the actual data that certainly shows a warming trend but nothing we haven't seen before here in the county.
