  1. BWI hasn’t had a double digit snowfall month since January 2016. DCA has 1 month with >= 5” snowfall since January 2016.
  2. Not over, but half of January is already looking like toast.
  3. This weekend looks really ugly. Depressing.
  4. Yeah, it’s sucky right now. Places like Canaan rely so much on that upslope. I could see them salvaging the second half of winter but without extended cold it’s going to be tough. Get the feel that this yr is shaping up to be a NNE only winter for the east coast crew.
  5. Nice train setup w the tree. My dad has always had a thing for trains. About 15 years ago he really got into it and built a platform in his basement that’s approx 10’ x 15’ with two separate tracks running O scale MTH trains. Even had to build a separate stand for the control box that runs the thing. Now it mostly sits idle except for the holidays when folks are over.
  6. Nice lakes cutter at the end of run on the gfs. Maybe February will work.
  7. Long range looks like shit. No solid snow prospects for the mid atl on the horizon. Maybe we'll get lucky...
  8. Ha yes, there's only so much long range tracking i can take.
  9. As long as I a) live here and b) continue loving snow, I’ve accepted that I’ll need to travel to get my winter fix. I spent the weekend in Vermont and enjoyed a perfect 8-9” snowfall on Saturday. I’m good for the rest of the month, but already looking at flights again for next month.
  10. Checking in from woodstock, vt. Hope you all are well.
  11. That’s pretty good, but still small compared to how hard Alaska has been getting hit this season. Alyeska ski resort southeast of anchorage is already at 295” this season. Some of the higher terrain further inland from the coast is likely over 500”.
  12. It might not even snow on mt psu. The rest of us are fng screwed.
  13. This is the correct answer. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
  14. The snow in the interior chugach is still going. Some spot could very likely exceed 400" for the storm. I mean, some of these spots get 1000-2000 inches a year, but this is still cool to see.
  15. This is why the chugach is THE best place in the world for snow and heli skiing. The lines are freaky af and steep, but its epic up there.
  16. It’s crazy, but the chugach mountains along the Alaska coast are badass and rival anywhere in the world for top snow conditions.
  17. The 282” of snow the gfs has for Whittier, ak wouldn’t be enough for some on this board.
  18. Thought this week was going to be a sucky washout?
  19. Was in Hershey a few a weeks ago. They were everywhere. You couldn’t walk any length of distance without seeing one.
