  1. Oh and temps in colder spots were at 26 approaching town this morning w some of the heaviest frost I've ever seen.
  2. Spent the day in/near canaan. Should hit peak likely during the week. Lots of trees already full color, so if there's any wind this week, poof....away they go. the higher ridges just east of davis are at peak by my estimation. Blackwater....above the canyon is close to peak. The canyon would prob be around peak next weekend?? Areas south of canaan or west over towards hambleton/Kendricks along the dry fork still have a ways to go.
  3. Good radiational cooling night. Davis is at 36 and down in the valley, the station at canaan Valley NWR is at 29.
  4. Expecting canaan to be quite busy this weekend.
  5. BWI: 11/5 IAD: 10/29 DCA: 11/16 RIC: 11/16 TB: 88F
  6. Yeah, this is phenomenal. I have no recollection of wx like this in mid sept in these parts.
  7. Left windows open. 60 in the house. 47 outside. 32 or below in spots near Canaan and in the hills of PA. 20s up in Northern PA.
  8. Beginning to notice color change on the sweetgum trees, which are underrated for color imo. Especially if you like yellow.
  9. Smoke should be thicker tomorrow. Am guessing we struggle to get out of the 60s.
  10. Shouldnt come as a surprise. Theyll likely also strongly suggest we avoid large family gatherings around the holidays. That'll be a big challenge.
  11. Keep us posted. I'm planning on doing a few days in Canaan and up near ohiopyle. Both spots are usually a bit ahead of deep creek.
  12. NAM twins dry this weekend. GFS mostly dry thru the entire run. Hope it holds.
  13. Forecast seems a mess today. Started the day expecting off/on rain all day, then it seemed like everything was sliding to the NE and we'd dry out, now we've got flash flooding and a lot in the metro area getting pummeled.
  14. Looking like a mostly dry work week, which is nice to see for a change.
  15. We really don't need a nice moisture tap anytime soon. Back of my house is so waterlogged I've got deep track marks in the grass from the lawn crew doing their work today. In the 10 years I've been in this house ive never seen it so wet.
  16. NAM twins now without much precip 95 and east for the next 2 days.
  17. 23 more days of post-7pm sunsets.
  18. NAM Twins: IDGAF if you're tired of rain.
  19. Lol....fishing spots are like good deer spots. You only share with those you trust. Here are some recent pics of bucks in my area.
  20. Need to try for a better pic on a non rainy day, but I can confirm the hummingbirds are out in force.
  21. WTH happened to Monday being a nice day? More rainnnnnnn
  22. Not to mention that some daycares (or many) didn't do school aged kid summer camps bc of the restrictions in place. I use the same summer camp place for before n after care. If I don't have before n after care and kids go back in person, well......
  23. Yes, some do go back next week. And, some of the counties have already poured a lot of money into making remote learning work as best it can. He lost a lot of support yesterday from parent and education crowd.
  24. If I'm reading the transcript correctly for today's hogan presser.....it seems both odd and confusing to now (1-2 weeks prior to reopenings) tell schools they need to reevaluate how best to allow in person learning. Idk about the rest of you, but I've already planned for my 3rd grader to be home til January because that's what aacps said was happening. Hopefully someone else has a clearer understanding, but it sounds like they now want kids back in person at the end of first quarter.
