  1. I cut my hair and I must say.....I dont see a difference between what I did and great clips. #2 around the sides and back. Clippers to trim the top. Easy and done in about 15 minutes. And, yes, I used a mirror to check the back
  2. Some remain open now for folks that are essential. If the workforce is going to be out there, we will need daycares open. Employers are only going to be understanding to a certain extent.
  3. In MD, I'm guessing many non essential businesses are allowed to open by may 15 while abiding by distancing standards. By then, I see no reason why golf courses couldn't reopen, for example. At this point, is there really a difference between Lowes being open and people going there to buy stuff for house projects vs Dicks sporting goods opening and people going there to buy bikes, workout gear, etc?? Not really. Come june 1, I imagine daycare facilities, movie theaters, etc will be allowed to open while practicing distancing. During each phase we continue to wear masks. Pools reopening seems complicated, but make no doubt, people will go if they do open. Sporting events, concerts, etc are the tricky ones. Like I mentioned a few days ago, how do schools like penn state, ohio state, michigan, alabama, etc host games in the fall w 100,000+ fans in the stands elbow to elbow?
  4. The British open was outright canceled. PGA is in August, US Open in September. Augusta National is closed all summer and doesnt reopen til Fall. November would allow for optimal conditions all things considered.
  5. PGA tour already announced their modified schedule beginning the week of june 11th. The first 4 tourneys will be without fans. Idk what you do about baseball. College football and NFL will be interesting.
  6. SIAP This seems not good.
  7. Maybe so, but those pics didnt look awful to me. A large stretch of beach w folks up and moving can appear way more crowded from some webcam view at a distance. And, I believe they're only allowing folks out in the morning and evening.
  8. There are going to be setbacks during the reopening, but I believe you'll see "hot spot" containment when those setbacks occur. We wont go back to the entire country being on lockdown as long as common sense prevails.
  9. Y'all need to stop letting phin get under your skin. Some of his points are valid, even if the delivery is bit rough. No different than the other side also has valid points. Finding and implementing a middle ground isnt always easy. I dont want people to die, but I also dont want people to lose their jobs, homes, etc. I dont think any of us want that for our communities. There will be a gradual reopening, which is necessary. That's something I believe we can all agree on. That process is likely to start in May. If successful, its broadened further and further over time. This summer is likely to be highlighted by some weirdness that will become our new norm until a vaccine is in place. Hopefully, there are real lessons learned and applied from this to better position all of us to handle something similar when it happens again. It will.
  10. Still a net of +110 hospitalizations yesterday in md. 145 in, 35 out.
  11. Re: stimulus.....if you owed, you dont get your money til they send checks. They're not using the provided routing and acct #s to debit your stimulus for those that paid. Only if you got a refund. Not sure if everyone was aware.
  12. +736 cases, +38 deaths in md
  13. My garden attracts lots of butterflies and bees between the coneflowers, butterfly bush, Shasta daisies, and the coreopsis. All perennials. I usually have to prune the butterfly bush to keep in check each season.
  14. Saw it in an article on wtop and on twitter.
  15. I see that people organizing an operationgridlock protest in annapolis for tomorrow. Wonderful.
  16. No doubt. Any setbacks along the way slow things down. Fauci was very open this evening.....there will be setbacks. And, we will deal with them.
  17. I think he will in coordination w VA and DC. I'm expecting him to enter phase 1 in the may 15th time frame. That sets you up for phase 2 beginning june 1 if all goes well. We're talking another 40+ days from now.
  18. Ok, so let's wager a guess at when Maryland enters phase 1. May 1? 15th? June 1?
  19. 752 new cases in MD, 43 new deaths.
  20. County checkpoints? Where'd that idea come from? Let's not even.....
  21. Who is the 40west character?
  22. Any of the parents hear from their respective daycare facilities? I reached out to the before n after care my daughter attends, and they're at the mercy of the state reopening things. Just hoping these places can survive this, so I dont have to scramble to find a new one.
  23. My daughters class hasnt had a live video chat in 2 weeks. The kids are asking for it, but......

  25. Re: grading End of year grades as of Q3 will be implemented. Schools are going to see a lot of kids....maybe even an overwhelming number....not completing their tasks for a number of reasons. Teachers, kids, and parents are all in a shitty position. I already recommended to my daughters teachers that they load the weeks worth of assignments at the beginning of the week as opposed to day by day. For starters, seeing the weekly workload on sunday night or monday morning helps with simple planning for the week in the house.
