  2. Here we go again...Flagstaff. I post this not to piss you guys off, or boast about this winter pattern, as you all know I dislike it as much as you do. It's just astonishing how relentless it is. Nothing can flip it. I really wish this was for you guys.
  3. I will never forget that day. Not only for the epicness of a snow squall in May, but also because it was the day I tore my rotator cuff playing a contortionist while trying to break loose a stubborn kitchen faucet connection.
  4. Yup. Winter when you don't want it, at least for me. I'm in full spring mode once Easter comes.
  5. That's what it did in 2020. A photo of my tulips popping out of the ground (on Feb 11th in Tamaqua) popped up in my Facebook memories today.
  6. Cold storm incoming next week for the southwest deserts. It may be cold enough for some flakes in the Phoenix metro area. At the very least, snow levels look to be as low as 1,500ft Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Snip from the NWS Phoenix discussion: Precipitation is also expected Tuesday night along a cold front and it may (15 percent) be cold enough for rain showers to change over to snow showers before tapering off across the lower deserts, including portions of the Phoenix area Wednesday morning.
  7. My Sun City forecast for Tuesday night... Tuesday Night A chance of rain showers before 3am, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%
  8. This is absurd... ECMWF Ensemble and GEFS means indicate another anomalous low pressure system will dive southward through the Great Basin and towards the Desert Southwest Tuesday. Latest ECMWF EFIs suggest this system has the potential to produce widespread windy conditions Tuesday and Wednesday. Precipitation is also expected Tuesday night along a cold front and it may (15 percent) be cold enough for rain showers to change over to snow showers before tapering off across the lower deserts, including portions of the Phoenix area Wednesday morning. In the wake of this system, well below normal temperatures are anticipated Wednesday along with the possibility of a widespread freeze event Thursday morning.
  9. Thanks all, but I'm responding to you Bubbler, because this is my concern. He's not a spring chicken anymore. The window of opportunity is small.
  10. Since some of you like to talk basketball, what do you think of the Kevin Durant trade? Does it put the Suns over the top? They gave a lot to get him, just wondering if it was worth it.
  11. Yup, but our warm ups have been about as brief as your arctic blasts...
  12. I guess since we shot down that Chinese "weather" balloon, we're going to have to wait a little longer for the planned CCP model to become operational...
  13. The low in Tamaqua was 4.1 degrees this morning.
  14. That was Flagstaff, which doesn't count in Phoenix. It's been colder that normal here, but for a warmanista like me, a below normal day in Phoenix is better than a normal day back there.
  15. Out here, we don't listen to Phil. We have Agua Fria Freddie.
  16. Just so you all know, my last post wasn't laughing at your plight. It was directed at the scenario of a 15 degree high on Saturday, followed by rain and 40 on Sunday. I don't revel in your lack of cold and snow. I wish it were the opposite. Especially since I might be dealing with it again today up in Flagstaff.
  17. I don't know whether to laugh at this, or cry for you guys. How pathetic... Tamaqua: Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 23. Blustery. Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 0. Blustery. Saturday Sunny, with a high near 15. Saturday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. Sunday A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  18. Yup. I live out here, and only 5 air miles from the stadium. I drive by it every day to and from work. Now if you all band together and get me a ticket to the game, you're welcome to come out... ps, they only cost $5,000 for the nosebleed seats. Go Eagles!!!
  19. Comes on at 1pm here, so I don't have to wait as long as you... *** Fly Eagles, Fly!!! ***
