  1. i saved up my pennies and just bought a 2019 Renegade Enduro 900 Ace. i can't wait till next year when there will be enough snow to ride it.
  2. you could post in a thread that is located in a sub-forum for the area in which you are interested.
  3. i noticed the same thing yesterday on a north-south highway. trees on the west side of the highway were caked, trees on the east side, and the ground beneath them, was all bare. sun doing some work, even with the Dec sun angle.
  4. went from a full melt with just patches and piles last night, to a winter wonderland with snow caked on everything this morning.
  5. i may have killed winter when I bought a new sled in November. my bad.
  6. i had deeper snow than the summit of Mansfield on Oct 30, 2011. I think
  7. i just posted about that in the banter thread. the roads around here (Lexington) are really bad.
  8. those of you heading out on the roads this morning, be careful out there. it is quite icy. Driving through Lexington MA was pretty sketchy in some areas.
  9. don't forget about salt content. you know what i am talking about. the roads are over-salted, so when the puddle evaporates, it leaves a nice white ring around where the puddle was.
  10. just curious, you mentioned that you forecasted winter to end early. how early is early?
  11. i think i just saw a couple flakes here in Lexington, but so far the falling oak leaves outnumber the snow flakes 1,000:1
  12. no wonder you can't grow any grass, not with people driving all over it
  13. you got it backwards. your lawn should be cut short and free of leaves for the winter.
  14. this place sucks sometimes for weather advice, and you are looking for health advice here?
  15. was decent here in Lexington, not sure what the gusts were, but the roads are a mess. the roads are completely covered with leaves, pine needles, acorns, and small branches. and by covered, I mean they are covered. a few larger branches down around the 'hood, but haven't seen any trees down
  16. sweet, gonna get some green stuff. thoughts and prayers to those along the coast who are going to get the yellow stuff. sounds dangerous. i am just thankful that no one is going to get any of that purple stuff. that would be horrific
  17. i've seen it happen in person. 2 primary factors: excessive amounts of beer; and excessive amounts of people on the boat. talking 2-3x capacity. the other way it can happen: pontoon falls off. i've not seen that happen
  18. Spent a couple hours yesterday cleaning up leaves, yard looked great for about 5 minutes. got home from work today, and there’s 2x as many as there were 2 days ago,. it’s that time of year. Upcoming storm will bring ‘em down
  19. yesterday on FB, NWS BOX posted a rainfall map with totals at the MA/NH border around 1.5-2.0”. around the same time, NWS GYX posted a rainfall map with totals at the MA/NH border around 0.25”. it must have been pretty crazy, seeing that gradient on the models. Hard to believe that the state line can stop qpf like that! Seriously, though, GYX and BOX need to coordinate more. that is just not a good look
