  1. This was one of the worst positive busts I can remember in a long time. Last checked yesterday evening to see snow changing to freezing rain with accums under an inch. 4 inches later...
  2. Eyeballing about 1.5" or so on cars/grass... coating on driveway, roads wet
  3. Yeah the differences in just a couple hundred feet with this one were crazy. Drove 84 West today...theres a 970 foot elevation sign just east of the taconic and there was full coverage of several inches. Just a couple minutes drive either side of the sign was 100% bare.
  4. thought we were gonna go lower...I ran to the store around 9 and it was down to 56 already
  5. Wow that's it there? I'm probably 1-2 miles north of you, don't have a measurement but it was torrential for maybe 10-15 minutes here
  6. Torrential rain here with lots of thunder/lightning...bit of wind. Just to the north by Carmel town hall looks like they got smoked based off radar.
  7. Was waiting for your post... thought we may have hit 2, was pretty hard for a while
  8. Looks like rain overnight/early AM then may be dry for a good chunk of the day?
  9. Dragging south as in it misses entirely?
  10. Friday doesn't look as bad as it had...seems like it may clear out by noon? Overnight Thurs looks the worst...
  11. What's the timing look like for rain on Sunday? Moreso evening or we talking morning rain too?
  12. Gotta hate those damn kids always having a good time!!!
  13. Were you living in the same spot then? I remember an electrical fire on the power lines/transformer down the hill on Croton Falls Rd. made the entire sky turn red at my parents house. It was crazy to look at...it was night and supposed to be entirely dark and you could see almost like it was day from the sky being lit up from the fire.
  14. I know some places saw some wind, but IMBY this may have been one of the worst wind forecast busts we've ever had. For most of the storm, it was relatively calm, and I'm not sure we even saw a gust to 20 at the worst. Forecast the day prior was for gusts into the 40s.
  15. How much did you guys end up actually otg by the time all was said and done? I'd say down the hill we had maybe 4 or 5 inches when it finally shut off last night. My parents who are between me and Kings Ridge at 650-700' or so had probably 7 inches on the ground when I dropped the kids off there this morning. I had taken a second drive up to Kings Ridge around 5 PM yesterday and the car tops looked like they had maybe 8-10 inches on them.
  16. I just drove the 3 miles from my house at 450 feet up to King's Ridge Road which is at about 950 feet. Crazy how different of a world it is up there than here. Here the roads are wet, maybe 3 inches in the grass because of the melting as it snows today. Up there they probably have 8 inches otg and roads are completely snowcovered.
  17. Power is out? Are you getting the winds already? Almost dead calm here...
  18. Something i overlooked when i bought btw... although pretty sure after 6 months of looking and finding a house we liked my wife wouldn't have been ok with me saying no because i wanted at least 300 feet more elevation
  19. You're gonna much better than me I think...im also in carmel but my new house is at 450 feet.
  20. The winter storm warning for western passaic, orange, and putnam was just updated 10 minutes ago. They actually upped the min totals...calling for 6-12 where the original was 4-12.
