With no real heatwave in sight, I'll call these the "happy" dog days of summer. Surely dont expect the respite from swamp ass humidity to last forever, but the back n forth for the next month would be fine by me, as the dog days are gone and the first chances of crisp autumn air showing up will be getting closer. Thats a win for me.

Wouldnt worry too much. IF NWS is close to right, lawn waterin to commence later today (although radar is stuckish in NW PA. Also, since that post, I've gotten POUNDED 2x since then, with friggin deluges that were largely not called for.

I said it the other week when we were chattin up big totals for 2025, that we'd probably jinx it and rest of year struggle to reach climo. While i dont think that'll happen.....just like AI....mo nature listens to everything we say.

A guy I follow for long range suggested late last week, that Aug was looking to trend cool, and might continue well into the month. I've little interest in breaking records, so I'm gonna root him on to be right, as a comfy Aug. would be just fine by me...and most me thinks.

My pal lives in Hopeland (couple miles NW of Ephrata, and they got almost 3" saturday night as well. We got hammered saturday as well, but not 3". Crazy how popcornish/localized these rain events have been.

I'm hoping to be on the mountain or road bike tonight. We'll see.

Im not sure why the NWS has me tallied for .01 last night. We had a 20-30 minute gully washin deluge that was on par for the hardest rain of the year...and we've see a ton of it. easily .75-1.0 shoulda been recorded in the rain bucket.

Hey bud. Thanks for the kind words. Got in to see little J (Jace) friday night and yeah, the emotions and life really comes at you hard when you see your son holding his son, then you get to hold your grandson for the first time. Great stuff. Embrace the little things, and even the not so fun things, because in the blink of an eye, you'll be looking back wishin for them. Kids had some hiccups last week, but J, momma and my son got home on Saturday. All is well. Looking forward to the end of the week respite from swamp ass. Its been nasty.

Sounds awesome, and yeah, remebering how quickly our kids grew up, I can only imagine how much faster it'll go w/ grandkids. You are lucky to have so much time with your little ones...hoping the same here.

Just wanted to let you know that an event worth coming outta da cave happened yesterday. I became a grandpa to my first grandson. Over the moon excited to meet him tonight or tomorrow. 40hr labor w/ C section after daughter in law "ran outta gas". Proud of her... and my son. Happy times no matter the heat...wet sacks n all. Real feel is a much more tangible barometer for many of us. Thats why I chuckle when spats over stats happen. When ballsacks are drippin, it doesnt matter if its being recorded as 89 vs 90. They both suck equally IMO.
