what is changing is the temperatures. it is getting slowly and steadily warmer. precip totals, incl snow, are a different matter. But it is warmer now, on average than it was a couple/few/several/100 decades ago, on average over time.

I'm going to Krakow tomorrow and I was really hoping for that eastern european winter vibe but it is like cloudy, misty 43/35. Uggghh.

That's unusual but I am west of the river and you are east of it? strange. in that storm a few weeks, that I was out of town for, you had about 11 inches but apparently there was only 4 or 5 here. snow lightening which probably means thats about it.

Somewhere close to 2.5 here. Some melting for sure during the warm lull earlier so probably 3 has fallen. But snowing nicely now and accumulating. Very wet snow as you can see.

I will assume the worst here because that is the tenor of the season. I'm not sure what actually brings a shift. On the other hand, today is nice here.

Wow! I will take some pics as I'm about to go out. We def had close to 2 a bit ago. Snowing pretty hard now, probably moderate? Radar finally looks decent so we have a shot at 4.

snow has gotten a bit heavier now. stone patio has re-caved. at least 2 inches where it has stuck the whole time.

meanwhile up here the radar looks bad but we are still snowing at the same steady light rate and accumulating.

looks like the best action is just south of ASH into central Mass. GYX talked about a midlevel fronto band which would enhance rates up this way but I don't know if or when that will happen. If we had a snowpack this would be a nice little refresher. Instead it feels like the first snow of late Nov/early Dec on top of which we build a winter pack. Maybe our whole winter starts now, 6-7 weeks late, and we get a back down by the 15th that we can build on.

a nice steady light snow and about an inch where it is properly accumulating. Decent snow growth. If we get some rates it will accumulate quickly.
