  1. Pat's Peak ftw! This is only 10:1, an you imagine the Kuchie?
  2. Hurtzadelphia would be consistent with the history of my beloved city.
  3. most any forecast of that amount a week out is going to bust - probably 98% of the time. Most winters have 0 "severe blizzards" in most of New England, and most years have no blizzards in most of New England.
  4. Wow is right. This is probably why Will has remained reasonably optimistic. That looks like a snow storm for CNEand NNE
  5. I don’t give up until Will does. Although i am 100 miles further north
  6. it ain’t it ain’t happening James
  7. my 1st reaction to this is that it is horrible, but I can't see the date stamp. Is the big ridge building nw of Alaska a good thing? And if it continues to build what happens to the trough south of Alaska? This is starting to remind me of parts of last year where all the good looks just kept getting worse as we got closer
  8. You missed the 30” in 8 hours that we got last year here in the land of the chickens
  9. Could be like 07 -08. We were on the right side of the gradient all year up here but you weren’t always down there. Or could be like the more recent year where we were on the wrong side of the grading a lot but Quebec city piled up two hundred plus inches
  10. exactly. we can tend to get ahead of ourselves around here.
  11. there is snow in the zones up here but nothing that interesting in the discussion, though I read it quickly. In 13 years living here Dendriteland, we usually don't get snow that becomes a permanent snowpack until mid December, but usually we get accumulating snow in November at some point
  12. quite the block and the tilt of the trough is interesting. block in a good position for even up here. no strong 50-50 to supress, but does that NE trough slip over the Lab and then the deep trough in Mexico spits something out and the Artic sw phases in?
  13. or maybe the thanksgiving weekend period.
  14. The WPC map was interesting this morning. It had the low inland over CT Tues but then at the elbow Wed at 996. The snow probs were pure NNE with no probs until about the Lakes Region of NH. I guess we need something to force it under a bit more and a high to the north. https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/#
  15. Thats a cool story. First big storm of my life growing up in central Delaware.
  16. I know it sometimes jinxes us, but I like a plowable snow in November. Seems this one might have some legs. Happy to know that though it may moderate, there are signs for cold later in the month and into December. Would be awesome after the incredible fall we've had.
  17. If this pattern repeats....an early season test of the models? GFS the s and e outlier (the more things change the more they remain the same)
  18. glad it is happening late Oct not early. 95-96 the coastal pattern kicked in in early-mid Nov, and 07-08 the pattern kicked in early in Nov, yes?
  19. the serenity prayer is really helpful to the young and the anxious. "...the wisdom to know the difference." Sometimes patience reflects, or brings, wisdom.
  20. The older we get the more patient we are I think. I am enjoying the extended season of being outside in a t-shirt. Leaves peaking now up here and I'd enjoy another week of 60s. On the other hand, we need a hard frost to kill some things and sweeten up my kale and carrots and brussels. Apologies for jinxing, but I kinda think when winter does come it might feature some real cold and a good amount of snow. The pattern should change just at the right time: November.
