  1. Yup, snowed for hours here and left all elevated surfaces nicely coated.
  2. Heckuva way to run a warm and dry period. 5 days in a row with snow and it accumulated 3 times, not bad for November.
  3. Snowing with the ground coated. @Juliancolton I saw pics from E Chatham with over a foot this morning, waddaya got there?
  4. Snowing lightly, ground is coated. I just saw a bunch of pics from East Chatham (NY) where there's over a foot on the ground!
  5. Aww man, so how do I explain away driving the length of West Ridge between Rochester and Brockport searching for the elusive 2"+ zone
  6. Snow on the ground this morning in Brockport. Not much, maybe .3", but it was nice driving in it and watching it fall (sideways) out the hotel room window.
  7. So is this like a Tinkerbell wand or the Wicked Witch of the West? There was semi frozen precip up and down the Hudson Valley today, that was nice to see. I think I'll get my fill on Mon/Tues going in and out of Brockport as it looks like a good LE event starting while I'm driving up. Yay.
  8. No there are (many) mangled flakes mixed in. Well, there were along the Taconic a few minutes ago and now it's flurrying in Tivoli.
  9. I know it's outside the local zone but is the weather also going to be benign between here and the western end of the state? I have to drive out and back Mon/Tues.
  10. I looked out and decided it was a work from the couch morning not a drive around morning. It's really nice now.
  11. You didn't see any snow mixed in a few nights ago? I saw pics with significant snow just ENE of you.
  12. I hope it's rain, I have to go pick my kid up from grad school in Brockport Tuesday morning. Gonna be a long drive if it's white not wet.
  13. Really cool clouds! Temp is down a few degrees and dropping fast, wind isn't bad but the gusts are getting stronger as the line approaches with long deep rumbles of thunder and lots of lightning.
  14. That was a nice stretch. I should have gotten more done. Again... So is this incoming system gonna flip the switch or is it still 2 weeks out?
  15. It only got below freezing in one spot (that I know of) here on the hill, most were 33-34. Most of the garden has given up for the year but a few things are plodding along. The brassicas were pretty well decimated by cabbage worms twice this year and I didn't bother to pull them. Well, these frosts put the bugs down and the cabbage and cauliflower started going to town. This upcoming warm up ought to turbocharge them so I'm thinking a dose of Neptune's Harvest after the ground softens in the morning should do it and we'll have fresh greens again before we freeze up for the season. I think I might eke out some more root veggies, lima beans, peppers and potatoes too.
  16. It looks like a bunch of stations in the area were as low as 27-28 early this morning but the lowest I can find here on the hill is 31 but most were 34-36. Did the solar storm light show make it this far south overnight? Will it be strong again tonight?
  17. I also stayed above 32 (33 low) and have frost on cars but not much else and only after 6:30 when it had already started warming up
  18. Mine is 33 tonight and 30 tomorrow. I'm sick today but hoping to get outside tomorrow to pull those peppers, move the summer plants inside, clear two beds and turn them then put the garlic in after the few cold nights this week. The plan is to load the beds that had bug problems this year with garlic and onions. Then, since it looks dry for a while, I need to pull the saggy headliner out of my truck and redo it. Good fall weather is nice so you can get things done.
  19. Looks like that first real freeze happens tomorrow night. I need to go pull peppers so they don't freeze, too bad the strawberries on the plants aren't nearly ripe yet.
