  1. just got back home from Waterbury where I estimate about 2", about.75 at home and round 2 looks like it will be north of my area so stuck in between... those echoes in the OHRV look interesting indeed, will have to watch. despite radar, it's-SN here still.

  2. i honestly don't see anything more than 3-5" anywhere unless we tick north a little more, or some mid-level magic forcing, but that seems to be a couple hundred miles south...shame I was hoping for a decent thumping...btw, 0430 waking every day, never set an alarm in my life, just always awoke at that time for some reason, doesn't mean I always got up and did stuff but wake up regardless.

  3. I will gladly take Georges prognostication...welcome btw...but based on what I see in the upper levels, right now seems safe to safe 6-8 region wide, or course lollies under meso bands, not a CCB like the 2/2 system had, imho, at least not as potent...yet, 700/850 fronto seems like nice placement though now.

  4. still think there's time to tick SE, not buying 850 0c almost to the Canadian border, but, we went from decent storm to ice storm in a couple days, in the usual NW biases, let's hope it works out white and not ice, because that would make for an awful travel trip, for me anyway..and anyone south of mid NNE

Feb. 2013 was the most memorable one down here. 18" in five hours, 30" total. Thundersnow, too. One of my favorites.

that's awesome, I have video where I caught the thunder snow, and had a ton of pictures but my external hard drive crashed, no I have to try and revive like 800megs of video and pictures of all the past 15 years... wish I had more pics of 78 though, that was amazing, and how big the drifts were, I was a wee lad, so they were over my head

  6. I've been trying to remember which storm it was, had to be I think in 01, based on where I lived and worked, but snow began around 9-10 in Fairfield where we were redoing a bank, and by noon, we were told to come back to the shop, but the Merritt and Rt 8 were completely gridlocked, took us 6 hours to get home, there was thunderanow as well and got about 20" in Waterbury...iirc, that winter was a good one too, just have a foggy memory for the few years around the turn of the millennium

this one is definitely one of my favorites, and my avatar... nothing tops 78 imho, top 5 are probably 78, Feb 82, Jan 96, March 93, Feb 13... although there are a bunch in there that could be in that list, but in terms of memory, those are my favorite ones...

  8. 3.25....about an eighth inch more than the other day, nickel and diming our way to epic month... perhaps? the way it was coming down when I left, figured there'd be at least 4 when I got back... almost not worth using the blower for these, but it saves time, so yeah

    Feb 2015, Jan 2005, Jan 2011, Jan 1987, Jan 1996, Jan 2015.....prob Feb 1899 in there too.

The top months all seem to be bunched near 50" for the month. Though obviously if you cross over month boundaries, you can get 3-4 week periods with more than that (ala 2015)

thanks, as I thought... would be nice to gather best 10 day and 4 week stretches.. will take some digging..

    17/15... almost.5" now
