I work on the other side of Plastic-Ville, but my room is on an interior lightwell, so I can't see any trees, etc.

Those folks from the power companies will be busy methinks

there nust be action, because usually when they deploy to an area expecting damage, they just chill until there is something to go to, and there is only one bucket truck left here now, so I would assume there are trees/power lines down around...it seems like every time I stay up this way, whatever hotel, there are national grid guys staying thee, weird

  2. top of the hill in barkhamsted has a good accretion of ice, judging from the car it looks like at least .20", but only just above 1000', at my house nothing... I'm about to go to leomeinster for work, what's the situation up that way? anyone?

Anecdotal.  Show me the science.   Winter has more sickness and it’s a tougher fight for your immune system but back and forth temperatures really don’t increase it.

I'm with you on this, in cold weather it's a combination of the body immune system weaker trying to keep you warm and the virus protecting itself by forming a layer around it so it can survive longer
