  1. I have no idea, but they turned them black as you can kind of see from the pic above and seemed to have killed them. I never knew what kind of trees they were until the lanternfly came. There were legit thousands on them and they secrete a liquid (maybe that was what the black was on the bark?) that made it almost look like it was drizzling outside. 73 out and watering system just got turned on for the season.
  2. Yeah, the ones I had were behind 2 giant pines that I have, so they weren't bothering me much. Their leaves looked similar to the Eastern Black Walnut tree that was mixed in with them. I was able to save that tree when the trees of heaven were removed.
  3. The spotted lanternfly's love those trees as well. I had 4 in my back yard and 2 years in a row they were caked with the lanternfly's. They pretty much killed them, so I had them taken down. The only cool thing was that once they were almost dead, we had a pileated woodpecker doing a number on it.
  4. 90% of people now look at their phones with the forecast right on them that comes ripped from the gfs and dont give any more thought to it. 9% still watch local TV for the weather. The other 1% are here or other weather forums and we say most of the time that we are better than the nws anyway, haha
  5. Agree, some of the LI wine I've had over the years has been terrific. I found this from NBC, maybe I was getting him confused with this. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/weather/stories-weather/new-jersey-drought-wine/4016245/
  6. I think @Big Jims Videos last year posted a story about that from his work with News 12 NJ about how 2 years from now the NJ wine will be awesome, or something like that.
  7. What you have done is greatly appreciated and I see NJ is covered. I already bookmarked it!
  8. Very cool. Selfishly, I wish Ray hadn't stopped with his website since I am in NJ, but thanks for doing this
  9. One degree is the end of the world to many on this site. He still complains it's still too warm BTW. 1 degree too cold and you would flip out.
  10. Yes they were high. Rainshadow (Tony gigi) who posted here years ago, is the main one acknowledging the incorrect temps. I'm not sure why there is so much red tape when they know things are off.
  11. Thanks, yeah, that 1.15 is pretty close to me actually
  12. How much rain did you get? I'm away and my station seems off at 1.07"
  13. There are ex-Mt. Holly Mets on a Philly board that laugh at the Philly temps and acknowledge they are off, but things rarely get fixed it seems. It took me years of complaining to get New Brunswick NJ temps fixed as it turns out their sensor needed recalibration. Do you think they ever go back and adjust the years of wrong data, doubt it.
  14. Might the red sun be from fires? Sun looked red here from those Canada fires. Not the best pic, but you get the point
  15. highest gust here so far has been 42
  16. Since I've been into weather from the mid-80s on, my area doesn't go below zero very often. This year, we did it 4 or 5 times. That is the most that I remember in a season in a long long time.
  17. With warmer winters, mud season is pretty much October through April.
  18. I think it was May 9th 2020, my pool was being opened, and we were having a snow shower. I'm not sure what the lows were around that time though.
  19. I totally misread my gauge. I got .61. Haha. No idea what I was looking at.
