  1. Official to what you consider are two different things. 100 years from now when Bluewave the 5th is posting, he will look at official records and it won't say negative. Probably similar to when you look at something from 100 years ago from an official site and scream about indexes.
  2. I think people sometime don't remember things correctly. Some of the "good" patterns people bring up from past years were only "modeled" good patterns and never actually moved up to hour zero to be actually real.
  3. If it was 37 and sunny all the snow would have melted too.
  4. He's been saying the same tired line about twitterland for years. You would think he would have discovered the unfollow button by now.
  5. and less than 30 miles away it is closer to -6+. He's lost his marbles. The lower 48 is having it's coldest January in 37 years. But NYC and places NE of there are only -3 it isn't cold.
  6. An average year had 14" of snow through Jan where I am, and am currently at 13". So, pretty average in that department. I'll take it with the cold that has been around mostly since Thanksgiving. It has felt like real winter.
  7. It has been 5 years, but the prior 3 to that averaged 16". March averages a little more snow than December, but I always consider those months more hit and miss anyway
  8. Nice, 3 below zero days in a row. Very rare! I just missed the 3 days below zero, -1, -5, 0.5
  9. Yeah, something must be up with his Station. I was -5 and I see Somerville was -8. Looking at the ambient app, most places around the area were -2 to -9. I see the other Hillsborough guy was -4.9
  10. -0.4 this morning. Back to back months below zero, pretty rare in this area.
  11. I got below zero one day in Dec. Would be cool to do that 2 months in a row, that doesn't happen often.
  12. Bluewave says Jan thaw next weekend, so get ready!
  13. 32/19 split here, max wind gust on my station was 39. Forecast was 32
  14. Lots of posts whether it be here or elsewhere are terrible, it's the nature of longer range forecasting. Even Don fails to point out all his busts over the years, especially Sandy going out to sea. I mean, 2 respected guys here are going to bust horribly for the 1st half of this month while people laughed at Ant.
  15. Depends on where you live. I'm averaging .3" less this decade so far than what the 80s and 90s did, so pretty much exactly the same thing.
  16. 13.2 yesterday, 14.3 this morning. Both days my forecast was 19. I guess hanging on to 100% snowcover helped
  17. People just want things to look absolutely perfect and stay that way for weeks one end. Can't win.
  18. Many different microclimates in the subforum. But if we stay as a whole slightly above normal here for a few days then transistion to eventually bellow normal and the rest of usa is +30, many don't care one bit. Go post it a general thread.
