GB 16, January 22-23, 2016, hands down. Dale City got demolished with 27 inches of snow and I wound up digging snow for days and days. All the neighbors demanded Jebman Standards lol. I never realized so damn many of them read American Wx. I made some money. They demanded Jebman Standards, I demanded top dollar. This was a Win/Win situation. There was so much snow, the plows were just bouncing off the pack lmao! I laughed at them then later, they plowed me right in with a nice ice berm. Overnight the snow froze, that they plowed and I was forced to chip thru that 5 foot icy snow berm. Boy did my neighbors kid me about wanting snow!

How much snow you guys get?

I got a sixteenth of an inch of snow and sleet with a cold front down here Saturday! Does that count?

This is unbelievable: State of the remaining icepack here in south central Texas! Its 60 degrees and STILL the icepack holds on in shady places! Its half an inch deep on the north deck, and also on the other house, the north patio which is concrete, nearly an inch of solid ice remains! It developed yesterday in 52 degree conditions as sleet melted on the roof! I damn near fell on that sob last night at 11pm! Forgot all about it, till I slid! Gotta remember to walk like a penguin on the ice! I never thought I'd publish a State of the Icepack down here in sunny warm south central Texas! It was 52 yesterday and STILL the ground was solid ice!

I seriously believed I needed swift and prompt professional help when I joked about walking like a penguin on slippery places in Virginia. But, look at this! I'm vindicated!

This year, Buda got no snow - Washington has had more snow. I dont know about North Texas, they may have had more though,

That arctic front means bisnass! We got 4 inches rain last night then it got colder, we got ZR then sleet. Its been a cold as fook down here, 17 now. Thats COLD for us!

For us in Hays County well south of the metroplex, what saved us from a potentially destructive ice storm was the changeover from light to moderate freezing rain, to sleet about 520am. Looks like we still got about three sixteenths of an inch of ice accretion down here, then some sleet. We got a boatload of heavy rain before that, about three and a half to perhaps four inches of rain. Buda is wayyyyy ahead so far this new year in the rain department, with about seven and a half inches of rain since Jan 1.

Its is now 31 degrees in Buda, TX, with freezing rain and sleet pellets. Its a frackin' MESS outside right now - and I damn near fell right on my damn @ss as I tried to get a precipitation reading! It's COLD out there too, winds are north at 23mph with frigid gusts to 36! This makes it feel like 8 above zero at times! Icicles are everywhere and the deck is a world-class skating rink! I think we should hold the ice skating portion of the 2022 Winter Olympics here! They DO start today, by the way! The ZR/IP mix will continue for hours into the new day as the temperatures continue to fall all day long!

Steady light to moderate FREEZING rain continues here at 410am CST. The entire north side of the house is a sheet of ice! 32 degrees. North winds gusting to 36 mph. It feels like 13 out. Glad I still have my ice skates, might have to strap em on later lol. This could be bad, especially for this region.

I am in Buda, TX about 36 degrees no ice but a lot of rain has fallen and is still falling here. We were originally supposed to get one half to three quarters of an inch of rain with this event but it has been pouring on and off for hours throughout Wednesday evening on into early Thursday morning. I have measured at least three inches of rain since about 1pm Wednesday. It may be closer to four inches by now. Still pouring. Observing thunder and lightning as well.
