Talk about "threading the needle" The bullseye is central NJ like you said, but the width of the storm is extremely narrow. 1/8 of a degree (angle) will create a big-a-miss?

I would hope some meteorologist has a general idea?

I thought we lost the record with last week's 1.6"? (or 1.8)???

Seems a little hopeless clinging to a > 10 day forecast in March, where any of the previous 10 day outlooks never panned out...

I like the vorticity field shown in motion. Thanks. Nice fantasy, I can only dream...

I wonder if the banding occurred where the heaviest snow fell?

Thanks for the confidence, but I am sour on Friday's precip. I always defer to Forky, Mr. Sutherland, and Sacrus for the best insight.

No blocking, atmosphere was very progressive...

Amazingly we got snow out of this "cutter".

Sounds about right. Maybe eeked out 2 inches in Garwood NJ, and looks like a little less in Linden, NJ. Pleasantly surprised.

Please no banding comments. Every storm, someone says it will come down to banding.

Seems a shame that an event like this, that will likely be all melted by storm's end, will end our bid for the least snowiest winter...

I counted 27 flurries in Garwood (central Union County NJ)

Interesting "Frost" this morning. Yesterday evening, there was steam in the air, leftover from the light rain. Overnight, it formed an icy glaze on some of the surfaces.

Not sure, but I think one of them might be wrong...

I was speaking in general terms, just not March or April...

Unfortunately there is no northwest NYC subforum, so people north of I84 are forced to be part of the NYC metro, which is a completely different winter climate. Also, I'm not buying Urban Heat Island effect for western parts of Union, Essex, Bergen counties in NJ or the undeveloped meadowlands etc. It is the proximity to the ocean that seems to put the NYC metro area on the rain/snow line border more times than not.

Winter was unofficially over January 30, 2023. If by then the long range doesn't given any sign of a change, you can call the season off. No snow, no sustained snow cover, nothing frozen, the ground is still soft. Actually, besides the two cold outbreaks that lasted a total of 72 hours, we did not have a winter. Just a place holder between fall and spring...

Brush fires have been breaking out all over Schuylkill County in easter PA past week or so...

Love that clip!

Perhaps...but trying to promote a culture that destroys the American pioneering spirit and self-reliance is casuing the decay of civilization...
