    Extremely fine snow, we’ll be lucky to get a dusting at this rate. Bad when Clemson has a bigger snowstorm than Boone has all winter and it’s nearly the middle of February.

    Not too impressed with the radar returns for the NW Mtns. I’d rather be in Caldwell, Burke, Catawba based on current direction of moisture.

    Yesterday was by far the best snow event of the season in Boone, that’s not saying much because even though it snowed all day I’d say we had about an inch. At least it got cold enough after dark to stick to the roads some. Only the second time this winter my parking lot has been white. Unreal.

    Just about our best snow of the season here in Boone and no one was calling for a thing, no advisories, nothing and yet we get a solid dusting with untreated surfaces solid white. First time I’ve seen my parking lot white this season. Incredible.

    These 40 degree freezing rain events sure are fun to follow!! This winter has been ridiculous for Mother Nature and for NWS imo.

    Unless there is some 9th inning miracle I’m gonna have to chalk this one up as a major bust from the NW NC Mtns. It’s been a long while since we had a good NWFS that amounted to more than an inch or 2.

    It’s amazing that just a month ago we had some of the warmest temps of the year and tomorrow will be some of the coldest! Amazing stuff

    Let’s not forget that the “old gfs” wavered the most and was the last one to lock onto the right solution with the Dec storm. IMO it performed the worst out of all guidance at this range.

    They pulled the trigger, the gun fired, and it scared them so they put the gun back in the holster until they know they have to shoot again. To be honest none of their maps have looked right to me for the storm they have basically had Charlotte getting more snow than some of the mountain areas

    I was making a jab at a guy that use to be on the forums several years “WilkesboroDude” that got the boot for being a drama queen and he’s known for saying the skies hadn’t healed enough to get a lot of precip.

    Skies have not healed enough from all the rain this year for WilkesboroDude to get that much snow, toss it!

    Eyewall has really tightened up, looks perfect on radar now. Notice I’m just west of Wilmington. Power went out about 2 hours ago. Getting some very powerful gusts.

    It came a hell of a thunder storm last night around 230am. Hellacious thunder and it absolutely poured. I’m on my way to Leland NC to ride out the storm. It’s about 20 min west of Wilmington .

    I swear the models get worse and worse every year. So far we’ve had a non existent storm become a storm with 48 hours and we’ve had a massive parade of storms at 7-10 days become non existent storms. Really pisses you off. .
