    I’m amazed at how little wind we’ve had here for this storm. Virtually no wind yesterday or today. I can’t remember ever having a big snow like this and not having a lot of wind in the mountains. This will make for some great drone shots when the snow quits.

    At a friends house off Browns Chapel in Boone My truck going through unplowed parking lot, once you stop it takes a lot to get going even in 4wd and chains.

    After a raging virga storm for several hours we now have very light snow in Boone

    Still a raging virga storm here in Boone. Saw a friend doing a live feed on Facebook in Vilas, few miles west of Boone and it’s snowing there.

    Rays final call is 15-20+ for NW mtns especially along escarpment.

    They pulled the trigger, the gun fired, and it scared them so they put the gun back in the holster until they know they have to shoot again. To be honest none of their maps have looked right to me for the storm they have basically had Charlotte getting more snow than some of the mountain areas

    Let’s hope this is just the NAM being the NAM. We really haven’t had any of the models “lose” the storm yet and we are around that 3 day window where we typically get some funky runs. Might as well be the NAM that does it.

    I was making a jab at a guy that use to be on the forums several years “WilkesboroDude” that got the boot for being a drama queen and he’s known for saying the skies hadn’t healed enough to get a lot of precip.

    Skies have not healed enough from all the rain this year for WilkesboroDude to get that much snow, toss it!

    This current snow is another over performer for us in the mtns. Ray was calling for dusting to maybe an inch. We’ve had several very heavy squalls and I’d say solid 2”
