  1. I played trivia at my local brewery last night, and that movie was the answer to one of the questions! The topic for one of the rounds was Weather. I of course got all the questions right and did double-or-nothing for that round. I missed first place by 1 point overall though!
  2. Well, I think I would take a one-hour flight for $100 over that. We need the hyperspeed train that would be like 2 hours.
  3. if they do get 24+ tho, could I be back to work by Monday?
  4. Maybe models have severe issues between jan 25 and 27 I have very fond memories of that event. Going to bed looking at radar and thinking “hmmm, seems like that precip could get up in here… Eh, no way. The Mets/models would know.”
  5. I think he means the second storm, I wanna say 9-10 Feb. Its the only thing I could think of as well. I got decent snow, yes, and east and north of me got way more, but that was a case where we were all modeled to get some significant snow because the low was juiced coming in from the west. This one is not really juiced until it jumps to the coast, and I just wonder if this patch of light snow would actually materialize.
  6. “Unique setup” for DC typically means clean driveway/cartop/trashcantop.
  7. So I’ve lived here forever and I don’t ever remember a similar scenario to what is being forecast (let’s say 1-2”). It seems we either get snow from the coastal or we get totally shut out. When is the last time we got snow in a setup like this (assuming we miss all from the coastal)? I’m legit asking, not being negative or anything. I just can’t recall.
  8. Yes, we get somewhat combative and demonstrate massive negativity when things go bad, but we have some very smart posters and great mets. We are handcuffed by our location in the southern climes.
  9. Christ almighty, you guys do threads right up here—313 pages! I’m in DC living vicariously through you guys on this one. Hope you all get buried! I have some old stomping grounds in Lowell and I wish I was back there this weekend!
  10. Judging by the lack of punctuation in this post, I take it that “work in the education” does not mean you are a teacher…
  11. They are listed here: https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&product=PNS&issuedby=LWX
  12. But why does my NWS forecast have a low of 28 tonight? Was that an “already low?” These are the kinds of things that would make a forecast more meaningful….
  13. So when is the temperature going to drop? Looks like the downpours are about to end and I was wondering if it would be better to shovel this 2 inches of slush off the driveway now before it freezes.
  14. I keep the candle lights in my windows and the wreath on the door but take down all my indoor decorations. So I can get a good Christmas card pic of the house in the snow! Still big, wind-whipped flakes here near the changeover line. 21 degrees.
  15. That is a cool graphic. I am just NW of that. Ripping massive fatties still here 1.0 MI W Centreville.
  16. Still holding on to fat flakes here in Sinnerville! Looks like the end is near tho :/
