The airmass in front of the storm is warm-it will be near 50. Heaviest precip falls while it's still warm, by the time the cold air drills in, most of the heavy precip is done. Like you said, white rain or a car topper north....

I caught the western edge of it. Was amazing-the sky (nighttime) was this surreal orangish color. I'd like to see a March 1888 redux too. That would be unreal
CRAZY RUN 2 feet plus just N and W of NYC through 3/20. Op run in its weenie range but fun to look at -what's interesting is that this area has had the highest snowfall + departueres this winter...seems like mother nature likes to hit the same place over and over again.
