insane rains here the last couple hrs...easily a couple inches

yep-gives me about .50 more-which would make the warm front today 5x as rainy as I picked up over 2 inches on today's event

Dont forget the halloween snowstorm of 2011. Knocked out power to most of inland CT for 5-7 days-a foot of slop on foliated trees....

Both utilities have been under fire for the last 10 years for poor storm response....calling in reserves 2 days into the outage-etc stuff that they should have done 3-5 days ahead of time

it does interact with a front, but agree, it's a 6-9 hr period of heavy rain for some areas, mainly overnight tonight.

Here in CT, the halloween snow storm of 2011, Irene, Sandy and even Isias were disasters here with regard to power restoration. A Cat 3-4 would take us out for months electricity wise.
