  1. The thing is with clipper patterns you get 1-6" from the clipper, sometimes more but its rare and then you get the cold air over the lakes behind which can result in big time lake effect. Those types of events add up over time. Go check out 2013-2014 LES events. We had 15 LES events that year! This is why I always say get us the cold and we will have an above average snowfall year. https://www.weather.gov/buf/lesEventArchive?season=2013-2014&event=A https://www.weather.gov/buf/wintersummary1314 Rochesterdave says rochester doesn't benefit but when you have that many events, they get hit hard too. With more events you get a variety of wind directions, it really benefits the entire sub.
  2. 13/14 had a great clipper pattern, was the last good one.
  3. Give me a clipper pattern for just a couple weeks, is that so much to ask? At least we can guarantee everyone in our sub gets to experience winter that way. I honestly don't remember the last clipper pattern, we used to get them all the time in Upstate.
  4. Looks like Tuesday will be your best shot. Looks like a pretty decent band too.
  5. Who was getting excited about January? SSW are completely random in effecting us over here. Even with them you need a delivering mechanism, all the cold air is on the other side of the globe....again. The Pacific has been terrible for 2 years straight. We are entering top climo as January is our coldest month so we can still average above normal and get some surprise events up here.
  6. I want some swag. I love this thing, wanted to see it in action with a real snowstorm.
  7. Since this thread will be dead for awhile, finished with 23.5". A few videos from yesterday.
  8. Some videos of yesterdays walk in the snow and snowblowing my driveway.
  9. Jan 17th 2019 can be added with 17.2". As well as the Jan 2014 event I believe and then this one. I'm not sure if there were any others?
  10. Rodgers about to win me $850 in fantasy winnings. Hes the best QB in the league in the snow.
  11. Anyone get a radar loop of the event? The one thing I forgot to do. =/

  13. Went to Knox farms today and got to enjoy the new snowfall through the trails there. Long range not looking good
  14. Need cold air to get lake effect. Global warming is making that quite hard to get these days.
  15. The NAM was showing 3-4' for the tug 12 hours before event.
  16. Glad you got hit wolf, what model did the best for your spot? I know models were spitting out 3-4' for tug and that did not happen.
  17. Phin has a fantastic Nest cam set up of the white mountains in NH. https://video.nest.com/live/URwoSmP3dg
  18. Yeah, you need cold air to get good LES. Lake temps are cooling a little, so you need even more cold air. The air coming the next 2 weeks isn't even close to what we got yesterday. At least 3 weeks out from next LES event. Might have some small ones behind these storms, but nothing like yesterday.
  19. Last January only had 1-2 days with highs below freezing, crazy. Was +8.1 https://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=buf
