  1. Strong ice storm signal around new year with that high pressure to the north
  2. There was definitely some cliff jumping yesterday when all the models showed less snow, a more westerly wind on the euro, local stations showing a few inches of snow, and kbuf slashing totals. Glad I held my ground. The euro did terrible with wind direction.
  3. I had to reassure Devin about 15 times via text that the band would make it to his place. I was actually nervous as his place is quite far north, was going to be close call there.
  4. I definitely called it better then KBUF did with this event. Not sure what they were seeing in saying it was going to hit the city last night. I always use upstream radars to dictate future conditions, it almost always works during now-cast events. The local mets are terrible, not even worth watching. Andy Parker is only good one left.
  5. I'm actually in a pretty bad spot for snow in this area. I'm only about 5 miles from the lake. If you go another 10 miles SE of my location you get to over 1k feet and they average 200" a year. I average around 110-115".
  6. I'm in love with my snowblower. Had to be 4' at end of driveway from plow and went through it. Very thick stuff as ratios were lower last night. I can't wait for next storm to use it again!
  7. My favorite pattern. Keeps Lake Erie warm for more LES.
  8. Can't really complain 2 day total of 30.2". Awesome back to back events.
  9. 2nd half of this event was much less than what I expected here. Dry air really killed it after this afternoons burst. 8:30-Midnight- 6.7" Midnight-6am- 11.2" 6am-Noon- 3.8" Noon-6pm- 1.8" Storm total: 23.5" At 38.9" on the year, has to be pretty close to normal if not slightly above.
  10. @SouthBuffaloSteve It looks like the weather channel and accuweather want to use my video. I went on your twitter post and agreed to both. Not sure if you saw that.
  11. Heavy snow has moved back in. The band should weaken throughout the night but not completely fiddle out until the early morning hours between 4-6 am.
  12. Would like an apology from all you northtowners that said this was a dud and 2 star event please.
  13. Ready for round 2 here. I don' t think I hit 3' but should get close to 30"
  14. ...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN WYOMING... NORTHERN ERIE...SOUTHEASTERN NIAGARA...SOUTHERN ORLEANS AND GENESEE COUNTIES... At 212 PM EST, A narrow band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour was located across the southern portions of the Buffalo northtowns, from Kenmore and Amherst to Clarence, and as far east as Pembroke and Oakfield in Genesee county. Expect the snowband to begin to settle southward across the Buffalo Metro toward the southtowns through 4 PM. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this band of lake effect snow which will create blowing and drifting to the snow. A rumble of thunder is possible with the most intense portion of the snowband.
  15. KBUF has shot at 1 1/2 Buffalo Airport 11.3 in 1150 AM 12/26 Public
