Before they realigned everything, 295 north would suddenly just turn into 95S right around when you cross over into pa over the Scuddersfalls bridge. It makes sense when you look at it on a map cause it's just one big circle, but still confusing. I think they changed that when they changed the exit numbers.

Ha ha, coming from New Jersey yeah. I'm traveling north into NJ and still would call it I-95.

When you guys refer to 95, which 95 is it?  I'm in nj and there's the turnpike which is commonly referred to as 95. The 95 in Pennsylvania turns into 295 once it enters NJ.  I've always been curious.

Same corridor imo but it's 95 in pa and NJ turnpike. Also, it doesn't turn into 295 anymore since they built the extension in bristol.

I understand the logic of changing I-95 to I-295 ,but I can't stand it and will always call it '95.

I’m out driving right now inNewtown Bucks County on my way to Levitown to pick up dinner. Rain is freezing to my windshield. Of course this is happening where I’m getting into heavier precipitation rates not where is barely coming down

Wow, an L-Town reference. If you don't mind what restaurant

Adam Joseph keeps referring to tomorrows event as a storm. He did it at 6pm and just now.....it bothers me.

Yeh that annoyance AND, his “PUNCTURE IN” term bothers me more that nails on a chalk board...

Also, when will they acknowledge that they blew there “Winter Forecast” yet again⁉️‼️

Hurricane wised up this year and didn’t issue one and Katy Bilo admitted last night that her initial winter outlook was wrong!

I don't know exactly how many years all the local channels have been doing their winter outlook but combined they can't be more than 20% accurate. And when I say accurate I mean "pretty close"....

They all love to use "good news" as a distraction when their forecast fails.

Back in the 70's and 80's Tv weatherman were not Mets.  I think it was better.  These weather men talked to Mets and tried to understand the forecast and Than explained it to us.  They were us.  Jim O'Brien, Herb Clark.

So often today...it sounds like Tv weathermen are just reading 6 hour old models.

Elliot Abrams is my all time favorite real met.

Same. Call me sick and twisted but aside from the damage and disruptions that was the most beautiful and surreal environment I've ever seen this area transformed into.

There is a really good documentary on an ice storm Montreal went through in the nineties, it's worth taking a look at.

The biggest issue with this thread and why we MUST change the title is this was way too early and was not in fact Presidents Day in 1983 - that was 10 days later....it was a great storm. The biggest snowstorm in my life up to that point but it was not President's Day...just trying to be accurate!!

    Wasn't PD I IN 1978, now that I remember.

    Edit: 1979

I haven't read Miller's journal article yet but I always considered a pure Miller A to be a storm that developed from a low originating in the southern stream, travels through the southern states or gulf and eventually redevelops off the coast from Georgia to NC.  If the low traveled up to Tennessee or Kentucky before transferring to the coast I considered it a Miller B hybrid.  A Miller B originates from a low in the northern stream, and when reaching Ohio, Kentucky or the Tennessee area, transfers to the coast from SC to NJ.

Now I'll read the journal article and see how wrong I am.   lol

If I read it correctly, even development off the coast is still a Miller A. Here is another PDF for more excellent reading.

    https://www.weather.gov/media/publications/assessments/bz-mrg.pdf

    Definitely a Miller A
