Interesting with this heat wave is maximum temps peaking at 1-2pm when with previous heatwaves usually temps peak later in the day.

Im watering twice a day right now, once in the morning and once at night and my veggies are doing great. They droop during the day but I swear my zucchini and cucumber plants doubled in size overnight. They are loving the humidity… 96F at 12 pm here. Will be close if we actually hit triple digits.
also, we had a power surge early this morning at like 6 am. That was scary. No power in this heat would be no beuno.
You gotta be a 100 degrees now

Heat index is past 100 and it’s not even 11 yet. How do people in the south deal with this crap for 3 months straight?
I think it’s worse up here. I worked with people that grew up and lived in Fla and I could see the defeated by our heat up here

3km NAM has a nasty squall line sweep through the area this evening. The HRRR keeps storms weaker and has them stay mostly south of I-78. Will be interesting to see how today plays out.
Need the sun to pop out and raise the temperature

I know nobody gives a crap but eh kinda heavy snow on the euro at 198hrs and the CMC keeps showing it
Might have to kick Ralph's cryo sleep pod and wake him in a day or two
With the MJO phase in the circle of death, yeah no.

Wednesday looks great with a shot at 70 degrees

Sun angle also skews(no pun) 850mb temps as well. Just because 850mb temperature map readings might be below 32 degrees actually temp will be higher.

As a note, I have never seen any red-winged blackbirds here in Philly but when I took a trip up to Niagara Falls during the summer about 10 years ago (Canadian side), there were a billion of them there. I was like OOOOOHHHHH... THAT is what they look like in person
Their call is a favorite of mine.

I've been hearing birds chirping around sunrise for a few weeks now. It would be nice to just slide into spring, but we're never that lucky. No, I'm not predicting snow. Just two months of raw, windy, rainy days before we turn on the AC in mid May.
It’s just banter, but I wanted a laugh from it. Like a weenie I’m reading long range thread in the MA forum getting my hopes up for feb28 to mar 2 period.
Only to have them crushed

One degree outside weather what a name
Info was pretty cool, I didn’t fully understand 500mb maps but I have a better idea of them now.

Pretty cool video regarding 500mb maps and spring storm/severe

What storm is this? I want to say 2/9/10? I remember that one being in the middle of the week and dumping lots of snow on everyone.
Judging by the AFD it was probably a Miller B.
When probably February 2010

So it the ULL captures the piece of energy too late, therefore not pulling the storm up the coast on the Euro where it showed snow amounts in feet. Ideally where would we like the capture/phase take place.
Definitely overland but where Tennessee?
-
This is the first time I’ve heard the term “dead upper level low”. So we are dealing with ULL’s that are Walkers?

Going to steal a page from Ji...but this was a pretty disappointing winter. We finally look to have a D-J-,F all BN temps yet I am only halfway to avg seasonal snowfall. I realize the clime is different than 25 years ago, but seriously, what do we need to do anymore? You would think with seasonal BN temps we would have cashed in on at least 1 good storm. Just tired of being nickel and dimed. Maybe it was an avg Nina winter. But seriously. The last 9 winters have been depressing asf. And we've had a few Ninos during that period, and we still can't cash in. So I'm not sure what it takes anymore at this point just to reach avg snowfall around here. End rant...see you for 0z runs
Gotta be climate change screwing with the Pacific Ocean water temps and effing up the PAC Jet skewing ridging out west

That piece of energy is directly affected by the strength and position of this storm in the 50 50 region so yes
Well that needs to get on board or get the F**k gone.

That thing is this weekends storm and exactly what i feared could change the variables
Plus the west coast trough has sped up. Bad luck all around.
Bluewave from the NYC forum mentioned how the pacific was impacting our storm chances. Potentially due to climate change, heating up the pacific and making the flow progressive and effing up the jet stream
