They still have me under a winter storm warning for 6-12 inches. Yet the daily forecast from TWC shows one inch through tomorrow afternoon. LOL.

It'll be interesting to see where the watches/warnings go up and how they align with the final totals in our area. I'm at exactly 800 feet verified by GPS and topo map. Parts of Morris County, Jefferson, Oak Ridge, Mount Arlington, are a few hundred feet higher than me, as are other parts of Sparta. Even a portion of Rockway sits over 1000 feet. If anyone remembers March 31 - April 1, 1997. We had a very elevation driven intense storm up here. I remember leaving work in Morris Plains to a rain/snow mix, and nothing on the ground, to over a foot with stuck and abandoned cars on Route 15 once I hit the higher parts of Jefferson and into Sparta. I was a kid all of 22 at the time, driving a stupid Saturn sedan back and forth to work. I still don't know how I made it home in that thing.

I'm under a WSW for 6-12". Meanwhile, Mount Arlington, in Morris County, probably 7-8 miles away as the crow flies, has no advisory of any sort up yet. Interesting setup. Looks like I'm close to either a couple of inches or many times that, or something in between. This will be fun to nowcast.

Damn, I'm right under that NAM bomb, and points just to the east and north of me. Even half that would be fun.

This may be another case of "careful what we wish for". If the best (worst?) case plays out, with heavy rains early, high winds, and marginal temps, isn't the potential there for significant damage and power loss, from the weight of wet snow on trees, power lines, roofs, etc? Especially in the northern part of the subforum. Even 8-10" could be consequential.

I used to post as gpsnavigator, mostly in the NYC forum. I was frozen out of that account when I attempted to update my e-mail address to a different one. No confirmation e-mail ever arrived after many attempts to verify the updated e-mail. An attempt to contact the web administrator went unanswered. After minor issues, I was able to sign up for this account, which is fine. I'll use this. But what exactly is the procedure for updating account settings, e-mails, etc, without having to worry about having the account indefinitely locked in limbo?
