When the Euro ticks further west from 18z, some will wonder what all the fuss was about with the NAM, a lousy model.

That's assuming the NAM is considered a major model. I don't.

Look at it this way. How often has the NAM been right at this point in time vs the Euro? Easy decision.

The problem looked to be that convection off NC forming another low further out.

Given the obvious rain keeping totals down for the cape, they must be projecting a track closer to ACK. Given that, I don't get the widespread 4-6 for much of the area. Surely SE areas should do better under that scenario. The east track of the GFS had 9" for ACK.

When the GFS jacks ACK, you know it's not good. And I use jack lightly.

That RGEM track is what I expect will happen.

Neither the Euro or the GFS has covered itself in glory thus far.

Euro will be 75-100 mi NW at 0z and will hold serve for the remainder. JMO.

It's a good start for the GFS, but needs improvement. Big hit for SE areas and DE ME.

Looks like the 18z was a burp run. Definitely digging more this run.
