Just looking at the latest radar loop of that offshore convection, along with the rest of our system. The convection seems to be drying up just off NC coast, and that main blob doesn't seem to be strengthening. Right now, anyway. -

My wife had to go to the supermarket, unfortunately, and found it just crazy with people buying things like they would be stuck in for days. This is what happens when the media and internet use their scare headlines "the storm could rapidly strengthen overnight and develop into a bomb cyclone". That includes people who should know better, like Accuweather.

It's chasing that offshore convection instead of consolidating the low as the RAP is showing.

If that convection to the east fades away, it doesn't have to move any further west for a meaningful change. But I don't expect that to happen.

I prefer to compare to 0z and ignore the off hour run. That was a marked improvement from 0z.

Looks like we are getting some of those positive surprises tonight that I mentioned earlier. One thing is for sure, though. Whatever pack we get isn't going away anytime soon. Sunday only 35-36F here for highs and we don't sniff freezing for over a week.

Based on the mesos thus far they will have to take those 1-2" amounts on the cape up quite a bit.

More than doubled the qpf from 18z here.

I think the Euro will tic even further west at 0z.

RAP quite bullish BOS on south thru the Cape with a BM track.

I think the mid 30's will be when the storm departs.

I think the TV mets may be underestimating the amounts for the Cape. In some scenarios they could be the jack.

I have that same gut feeling that some positive surprises lay ahead.

3k gives me .82 qpf vs 12k's .24. That's quite a big difference between the two.
