  1. Mine are still going strong, too....I don't recall a year when the bloom has been this long and strong.
  2. Congrats Anthony, sorry the weather sucks. We had one of my daughters in May 2005, when we were stuck in the wheel of Rhea up here. After the baptism I was grilling on the deck while my late dad held the massive outside table umbrella over me, just a horrific weekend. You will still enjoy, it is all good.
  3. Congrats and just like that, life changes, it will never be the same. Hope all are well, good luck.
  4. I work in Post Office Square and just went out to get lunch. Was not expecting it to be so cool, have no idea what I was thinking, or not thinking. Was expecting I would need the jacket on the walk to South Station later this afternoon, not now.
  5. Oddly, I like that feature. When I first saw it, wasn't a fan.
  6. Tenacity is great stuff.....I don't use the weed stuff anymore, either....tenacity takes care of it.
  7. I love my Arians, just blasts through the piles. Can't imagine not having one.
  8. Nor have I other than what I read here, can't focus on that one yet.....but this is the time of year, as you know, where people will start to call uncle on winter, they are so tired of it....I have enjoyed throwing Friday out to let them know that after 18-24, it's not over yet....I love their hopelessness
  9. So true! My neighbor was talking to me about the storm today and I told him we've been watching it for a week. Then I dropped Friday to him.
  10. Not to derail, I think '78, for everything written about it, is still underdone. The drifts were amazing, 10 to 15 feet easy. I was from a family of 6 and only two of us, my mom who was home and me who could walk home from school (5th grade), made it home Monday. 3 of my siblings, who were in high schools in neighboring towns, did not make it home and my dad, whose work was in Pawtucket, was stuck on 95 and made it to a gas station were he stayed. He made it home Thursday with the big equipment from the Army Corps when they started to plow...it was amazing. This was for Cranston, btw.
  11. Glad you are heading back Jerry. While it can't make up for you missing '78, hopefully it comes reasonably close for you, and us. After all these years, '78 is still the measuring stick, let's get close to it!
  12. Why the LOL? It's a weather board, they tracked a meteorological bomb for six days or so, even though they knew the odds of it hitting were low for the last 4 days. They enjoyed it, it is the purpose of the board. You don't like tracking for that long, so you didn't. You each put in what you wanted to. There is no LOL for tracking a storm on a weather board...what is the purpose of the board, if not that?
  13. There was no way to accurately measure the blizzard of 78, I have to believe we were over. The 27.1 at Logan and 28.6 at TF Green are low, though there is no way to officially know. I was living in Cranston and we were over 28.6, no way to measure with the size of the drifts.
  14. Snowing nicely here again, looks amazing. Looking forward to snow blowing
  15. Beautiful snow falling here. Ground covered quickly, I am about 5 miles from Gilette
  16. Grew up in Cranston and December 81 was a massive bust on the positive side, I remember it well. I think the meat of it was Saturday, just kept snowing beyond what was forecast.
  17. I know it is not everybody's cup of tea and not meaning to start the debate yet again, but this, to me, has been a solid winter. I am 58 so have experienced pretty much all our spectrums, from the snowless 80's to the utter beauty of the Blizzard of 78. But the frequent light snow in the air (another dusting this AM with snow still falling) and cold temperatures since the start of December and through the holidays makes it feel like winter, even if I would like a better, snowier look to it. To me, worse than a winter with no snow is a winter with mediocre cold. My body, and the landscape, needs to feel the bitter cold winds every now and then.
  18. We are going to pick up a couple of inches with this
  19. Was telling my wife there is no wind (I don't think she cares!) but as intensity goes up more, wind starting to blow. Pretty awesome out right now.
