  1. RadarScope is the best use of an iPhone I know of … I make my living on the ocean and it’s just invaluable having that level of detail
  2. Smoke smell is thick down on the Vineyard today, much pearl-clutching and cuckoo speculations …
  3. Anybody getting out lately? Wishing I was fishing (at Quabbin) …
  4. Fellas, I’m a deer hunter and we are all hoping for a temperature drop, like, a couple normal OCT/NOV high and dry NW wind days … not gonna happen, is it?
  5. Headed to Quabbin this week, may rent a boat at Gate 8 or may just fish from shore … this week last year I caught a #5.4lb, 25.5” Landlocked Salmon (State pin!) from the shore there, and several Smallmouth to 19” … one of my favorite places in New England
  6. The nuclear band that just passed over MVY is going to cause ecstatic nudity for many … enjoy, fellas!!!
  7. Vineyard total whiteout, 5”+ overnight, now fatter flakes flying sideways, wind gusts roaring down the chimney … 6 & 8 year olds in jammies with their faces pressed to the window … gorgeous

  12. My God, call the Steamship Authority, let these guys worry about other things than your vacation …
  13. That dark blue is the Labrador Current coming up against the western edge of the Great South Channel … an upwelling, pretty much constant 52deg F … hence the fog (glad I could finally contribute)
  14. I got a raft in Katama Bay that’s perfect for Cantore … fml
  15. Anybody want to buy an oyster farm … tonight?
  16. Folks, longtime lurker who has tried to be quiet and learn the dark arts of New England weather forecasting. I live on the Vineyard, have an oyster farm and several commercial boats in the water. I’m getting spooked, pulled every boat I can out already but have a 35’ Downeaster with nowhere to go and a lot of oyster gear/rafts in the water … this may be The One, and I get excited for heavy weather like anyone … but this one, as currently modeled, would be disastrous … thanks for sharing your knowledge with us plebes - and remember that some of us with interests in Henri’s path are looking towards any possible guidance and forewarning … be safe.
