  1. 46 here and look to be closing in on a quarter of an inch of rain. Absolutely awful week ahead but man did yesterday turn out really nice. We were outside virtually the whole day and from mid afternoon on there were plenty of periods of sun. The evening, in particular, was gorgeous with a stellar sunset. MDT ended March with a mean temp of 46.3, good for 12th place all-time. April will obviously be starting out on the chilly side but not overly so given the nights not dropping too low. If things warm up a good bit next week the grass should be howling. Happy miserable Monday everyone.
  2. The 3k’s have the clouds thinning a good bit later this afternoon. I hope so because we are taking the kids to an egg hunt.
  3. A low of 39 and .19” of total rainfall. Happy Easter, all.
  4. Current temp of 45, which was also the overnight low. Total rainfall of .41".
  5. Low of 41 and a couple hundredths of precip from a narrow band of showers that passed overhead right before I left the house. Yucky day ahead.
  6. Low of 32 at the MJS residence. Looks like a dreary couple days ahead. Man, this news about the Francis Scott Key Bridge collision and collapse is crazy. Thank god it didn’t happen during busy daylight hours.
  7. Yes I meant the final monthly mean temp. We were supposed to bring the average back up this week but that now looks unlikely. It may come up a smidge but will mostly hold steady.
  8. Only got down to 31 here on the eastern end of West Hempfield Township. The week ahead not looking nearly as warm as was forecast a week or so ago, to the point where we're likely to fall out of the top ten for the monthly mean.
  9. Low of 26 here. Rain gauge is frozen solid. Will have final tally later once it thaws out. More importantly, the Penn State Nittany Lions won their 11th national championship in 13 years in wrestling, and in doing so broke the all-time team scoring record. Straight beasts. The word dynasty gets thrown around sometimes but this truly is one. Cael is the John Wooden of his time. Pure greatness.
  10. Did not see anything frozen here and did not expect to. Anyone else? Looks like maybe just shy of a 1.5” here. Official measurement later. Off to a kids birthday party.
  11. Low of 37 with what looks to be about 3/4” of rain thus far. Currently 38 and fully saturated. Ugly day.
  12. National low of -14 at Mt. Washington. As for the rain tonight into tomorrow, they have definitely been inching those higher totals further westward.
  13. Yes, get those NCAA wrestling brackets filled out, action starts at noon! Oh wait, we're talking basketball again, silly me.
  14. Hard to say. Could be a sharp east to west cutoff, although that map seems overdone.
  15. A chilly low of 25 here. Looks like MDT bottomed out at 28. Tonight was supposed to be the colder night of the two so we'll see what lies ahead.
  16. Oh wow, I dipped to 36. It was 41 when I left the house at 6:15 though.
  17. MJS reporting for duty. As my opening contribution to the spring thread, here is a pic of my buddy's cabin snow-covered this morning, with more on the way.
  18. Low of 36 here, 41 when I left the house. I hear that train a comin’.
  19. Our potted palm tree, which my wife abruptly threw back outside over the weekend, was not disappointed. Needless to say, I will be dragging the little feller back inside for the back half of this week.
  20. Yeah, it was a miserable walk through the 'Burg this morning.
  21. Low of 32. Lots of reports of light snow or flurries through York and Adams Counties.
  22. Bahahahaha, oh it wasn't you I was referring to, friend. It was that other squirrely fella who likes to obsess over all the weather to your north and west. Never before has Jefferson County gotten so much attention haha.
  23. Well, I'm comfortable going out seven days through next Sunday and saying that I think we'll knock a good 2-3 degrees off during that timeframe. In fact, I'll say we're sitting at a monthly mean temp of 46.6 by next Monday morning, which is 2.3 below the current average of 48.9. After that, it gets a little tricky, as we could see a bit of a warm-up during the last seven days of the month. Plus, the period just looks generally more unsettled. But if I must, I'll say that the last seven days adds an additional 1.2 degrees and brings us to a final monthly mean temp of 47.8, which would put us alone in 6th place all-time. Book it.
