  1. 58/58 when I left the house. Hit 55 through the rurals. Some sparse valley fog but only in the lowest of low spots. Stunning morning.
  2. Well, I would agree with you (and them) that MU is more of the official record keeper for Lancaster; it's just that the NWS is only going to cite their official sites for record keeping, I would imagine. For one, LNS has only been recording observations since like 1999, whereas MU I believe goes back to something like 1914?? LNS also doesn't keep any snowfall data, which is reason enough to scorn them haha. Heck, the Filtration plant near downtown Lancaster would probably serve as a better site as well. At least they have records going back to the mid 70s and track snowfall to some degree. In any case, MU would clearly have the most extensive climate record, along with the most attention to detail and record keeping. They deserve the title ha.
  3. Yes, that was exactly the point I was trying to make. Thanks for clearing up.
  4. Saw that! MDT topped out at 89. Like I said, not even close Low of 60 at my place. Feels like a hot one. That was Millersville University, not LNS.
  5. I am generally of the same mind but today is the day I caved ha.
  6. Yes I'm well aware of your 11am-80 rule and I love it! Correct, first day of AC is today. Windows and circulating fan did the trick up until this point. Yesterday was the first day that was a little rough but we weren't home most of the day so that helped. If there was a statistic for combined mowing days and days where the AC unit is running, you'd have to be one of the top guns in the Commonwealth haha.
  7. Same here with the 59. Today is the day my AC comes out of its cocoon. I don't think we get all that close to the records of 90/92 for today/tomorrow but I've been wrong before.
  8. Low of 51 and .02” of rain. Gorgeous day on tap before the near-record heat arrives tomorrow.
  9. Low of 43. Currently sitting at 49/38. Should be a nice Scotland type day.
  10. Here is what I have in my notes from back then.... Hurricane Sandy, worst storm to ever hit Jersey coast & NYC, 80-100mph winds, tons of flooding. We got only 3-6" of rain & 50-60mph gusts. Lancaster set record low pressure of ~960 mb as eye passed right over. Lowest pressure ever recorded for a North Atlantic storm. Storm dumped multiple feet of snow from NC mountains through Laurels.
  11. I'll be sneaking in a mow today for sure. Low of 34 here. Looks like MDT only dropped to 40. Speaking of MDT, looking into my crystal ball, I have the month ending with a mean temp of 55.2, which would by +2.1 AN and good for 17th place all-time. Book it.
  12. Low of 40 and .02" of rain yesterday. National high of 103 at Castolon, TX and low of 1 at Mt. Washington, NH. Some cool nights ahead before we turn up the heat next week. Onward.
  13. I have not; will have to add it to the never-ending list.
  14. This makes me think of the time years ago when my buddy and I took our wives out on the course. They drove their own cart and drank wine. Well, let's just say they got out of hand and by the final six holes were rampaging the cart all over the place -- too close to greens and over a tee box and just general debauchery. We lit into them pretty good and told them we're never taking them again. We were lucky to not get kicked off the course that day. Lucky for the ladies it was a low key public course with nobody keeping watch. Today is a much more upscale course, so needless to say my wife and I had a little chitchat last night about not having a reenactment ha. Yeah, I think I'll be driving today. There aren't enough Miller Lites on the planet to make me more of a hazard on the course than her haha.
  15. Low of 37. It's my wife's birthday today and she wants to go golfing. Of course, what she really means by "go golfing" is that she wants to ride along in a cart and drink box wine. Should be a beautiful day to hit the links.
  16. Low of 33. Looks like a nice cool spring week ahead. I was up in State College all weekend for the U.S. Olympic Trials in wrestling. Great time had by all.
  17. Yeah really weakened as it moved east. Only .01" and that's probably rounding up ha. Low of 51.
  18. Have not read but rankings like this are generally an exercise in absurdity and not worthy of anyone's time. Like, how do you even begin to rank something as complex as a state and all that comes with that term? Based on what? And according to whom? Silliness aimed at driving clicks.
  19. Almost forgot to add, I got .36" from that rogue cell yesterday afternoon. I'm now at 5.53" for the month.
  20. It radiated out well last night. 44 at my house when I left and 39 on the car thermo through the typical cold spots. Even a touch of valley fog along the creek bed. A perfect ten on tap.
  21. Looks like about a third of an inch here. No real wind or lightning. Nice little surprise.
  22. That cell sure looks like it's headed right for you and I. Unexpected.
  23. Just mowed, followed by my first cold shower of the year. It's hot out there, but feels good with a breeze in the shade.
  24. I had a buddy whose trampoline went airborne as well. Luckily he had it chained down. Yeah it was a weird little event to be sure. Like I said, totally caught me off guard.
  25. Yeah it appears it was quite isolated. It blew over a bunch of stuff on our porch and was just generally as loud as I've heard the wind here. Odd.
