  1. An additional .3 of sneet here over the last couple hours. Event total of 2.3”. Now an 80/20 mix of rain to sleet, with everything compacting and washing away. Fun while it lasted.
  2. It really is quite the battle at the moment ha. Constantly back and forth over here.
  3. Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle, it’s actually switched back to snow here. Don’t have high hopes but let’s see where this goes.
  4. Seeing multiple mPing reports of sleet well up into Lebanon County already. The HRRR first sniffed out the aggressive eastern warm nose at its maximum range of 48 hours. Impressive.
  5. Mix being reported all the way up to the Lanc/Berks line already. Will be interesting to see if it holds off for the Harrisburg crew as was modeled.
  6. CC line was never really close to me and yet…..here I am sitting under sleet. Would love one more bout of snow under intense rates but I doubt it. We know how this usually goes.
  7. Awesome congrats! We have completely switched over down here. Was really hoping to hold off until 4 or 5pm but warm air wins again down here.
  8. An additional 1.5” has fallen here in the last two hours, bringing the storm total to 2.0”. Sitting at 31/30 and sleet starting to mix in when rates let up.
  9. Still 32/31 here but with moderate snow now and much healthier flakes. Was just out driving and the main roads are mostly fine but side roads are dicey and my neighborhood roads are completely snow covered. Beautiful scene.
  10. Been snowing for two hours and just measured a half inch. 32/31 as rates picking up. Wife sending me out to run an errand so will report on roads shortly.
  11. Yeah if you squint hard enough the recent HRRR runs have been getting slightly better for northwestern Lancaster County. Gonna be a real war over here come 4-6pm, me thinks.
  12. Inefficient accumulation here early on with temps waffling between 32 and 33 and a DP up to 30. Hoping we squeeze in a big thump sometime between 1-4pm.
  13. There are three things in this world I can sit and stare at in perpetuity: a steady snowfall, a crackling fire, and two dogs wrestling. That’s it. That’s the list.
  14. The CC is a must when searching for that sleet line.
  15. Mulch and patio table have caved as rates gradually increase here. Beautiful scene. 32/28
  16. First stray flakes have broken out here in west central Lancaster County as we sit at 32/27. Inner cylinder has been removed from the rain gauge. Let’s get it while we can!
  17. Narrator: the observer was, in fact, not ready to go. I would gladly stroll up to MDT with my trusty 18 inch steel ruler but I’m a little hungover today, as evidenced by my silly 2am posting. Pap went a little too hard last night (a rare thing these days) and momma is giving me the side eye this morning ha.
  18. Sitting at 26/21 here as I hit the hay. Let’s goooooo!!! G’night.
  19. Gentlemen, with a couple toddlers this is as late as Ive been up in ages and yeah maybe Ive had a little whiskey, but I gotta tell ya, Ive got no damn clue which way this is gonna break down here. Just gonna enjoy whatever thump we receive and be happy for snow. Again, only guarantee is Lancaster is the tightest gradient haha. See ya’ll in the mornin!
  20. It’s gonna be quite the ride down here. I’ve been beating the drum all week for Lancaster being ground zero on the mixing battle. Gradient should be impressive across the county. Could be 6” in Etown and a trace at the MD border.
  21. Dare I say that looks like a pretty damn reasonable depiction ha.
  22. Snow totals improved greatly for southern tier folk on 18z NAM....not entirely done yet in NE PA.....
  23. Whoa big changes at Hr30. Low now sits in the middle of the Chesapeake and somehow all mixing is held at bay for the LSV. Much better but seems wonky.
  24. At Hr24 18z NAM is very similar in evolution to 12z, although 540 line is down near the MD border which is a good bit lower than where it was at 12z. Good to see.
  25. HRRR still basically a no-go for all of lancaster county, a slushy inch or two. I do think it may be getting ready to come around though. Think we see a different outcome by 0z or 6z.
