  1. Oh wow, good on him. I was just speaking to model-gazing, but that's why he's a pro. It does look like he's had to up his predicted amounts substantially. It looks like the record min max for MDT of 57 from 1996 has a chance to go down, although the station has spiked to 55 recently. I'll have to check the flight log.
  2. Low of 52 with .23” of rain. Doubt the temp budges much today. This was a pretty big forecast miss with regard to timing. I checked every single model yesterday and I don’t think a one of them had rain moving in as early as last evening, nor did they have me getting anywhere close to a quarter inch prior to 6am. Consensus was rain moving in during the pre-dawn to early morning hours. That’s wildly off for being less than 24 hours out. Anyway, should be a nice miserable walk into the capital city this morning.
  3. The current monthly mean temp at MDT is 63.4 degrees and according to my calculations that's exactly where it will end the month as well, at 63.4. Fun fact, that would exactly match the 30-year average temp for the month of May, down to the tenth of a degree. Middle of the pack type month. Book it.
  4. Low of 51. Cloudy day and then tomorrow the rain cometh.
  5. Well stated. It really was that kind of day. Great fire pit night.
  6. Low of 47 and a trace of rain from a late afternoon spritzer. An 8 on tap for today and a 10 for tomorrow. Onward.
  7. Third straight day with a low of 49. Added .01” of rainfall to the ledger. Reckon I’ll try and mow and plant some potted flowers today. Onward.
  8. That’s actually solid, enough to keep things damp. Only .01” here from a couple one minute popcorn showers. Loved the mix of sun and clouds though.
  9. Another low of 49 and .52” of glorious soaking all-day rainfall, for an event total of 1.09”.
  10. After some imposters tried to steal the crown in recent weeks, the rightful kings have returned to their throne, with the national high and low of 109 and 17 occurring at Death Valley and Peter Sinks, respectively.
  11. My own personal record for days in a month recording measurable precip is 21, done twice, in May of 2019 and March 2020. My fewest is 3 in November of 2023.
  12. Low of 49 with .57” of rainfall. Let’s see if MDT can set a record by staying below 54 all day.
  13. Well under a tenth of an inch down here but the good stuff seems to be on the way.
  14. 56 when I left the house with no measurable rainfall but some spotty stuff starting to fall as I drove to the train station.
  15. 42 when I left the house. Beautiful clear sky morning.
  16. FYI, min max records for MDT for Wed/Thu are 48/54, with both being set in the late 1800s.
  17. Low of 54 and yesterday was my first day without measurable precip since May 11th.
  18. Low of 61 and .02” of rain from last evening’s showers. Perfect day on tap.
  19. Ended up being nothing too crazy here, with one loud thunder crack, no real wind, and about a quarter inch. Perhaps more later.
  20. Looks like I’m about to get absolutely molly-wopped down here.
  21. Low of 60 and .03” of rain. A muggy one today.
