  1. That's fine by me. My yard really needed to dry out. Now, as for late February into early March, let's get rockin'.
  2. Low of 34 but didn't encounter any fog on my way to the train station. Nice boring stretch of weather ahead. Presque Isle, ME coming in with the national low of -20. High was 83 at Glamis, CA. Carry on.
  3. As the "owner and operator" of two toddlers myself, I can completely relate my friend, and am right there with you in the fog of war. As for Chesco, like Training mentioned, he's merely posting his own observations, and from what I can tell the guy has some top line equipment and keeps meticulous records. I see very little, if anything, controversial about a guy posting once a day where he simply reports his own observations and gives a brief forecast for the days ahead. We can quibble about how he compares his data to that of warmer locations from the past, and that's fair game, but all in all the guy is harmless.
  4. I agree with a C- thus far. Just no sustained cold, but with that said, I have measured snowfall on eight different days at my place this year. So that's......something ha. Also, MDT is guaranteed an above average January snowfall. I'm not expecting much of anything over the next couple of weeks but if the end of February and early March can deliver we can maybe move into B territory. I think the northern part of the state has done much better relative to expectations.
  5. I was scratching some numbers this morning (light work with only three days left in the month ha) and think MDT will end January with a mean temp of 34.9, placing it in sole position for 20th all-time warmest. It should also end as the fifth wettest January on record. Also, someone was inquiring about how much snow we had during that little 5-day stretch a couple weeks ago and I just wanted to add that I got exactly 8" at my place. Sitting at 11.9" for the season. Onward and upward.
  6. Low of 36 here with .11" of additional rainfall, bringing my 5-day total to 1.45". I got 6.47" in December and have 6.41" so far in January. Thankfully, things look to dry out for a bit in the coming week(s). For you snow hounds, here is a picture of my buddy's cabin this morning......
  7. My buddy had a cam recently installed at his place and it looks like a near whiteout right now with heavy stuff on the doorstep. CTP’s map seems to indicate they think 3-6” for elevated places. Could be fun to monitor!
  8. Rain has officially flipped to snow at my buddy’s cabin at 1900’ in Tioga Co. Thinking they get a nice 3-6”. Paging @pasnownut
  9. 39 here with .84” of rain. Some higher terrain areas across the northern tier should see snow soon.
  10. An additional .12” here, for a three-day total of .5”.
  11. Yeah it’s rare that even losing teams are kept under a 100 anymore. Edit: To add to this, from 1964-2022 there were four 70+ point games. In the last year there have also been four such games.
  12. You aren’t kidding. Fog got very dense very quickly here as the temp dropped to the dew point. Sitting at 48 with 99% RH.
  13. Stuck at 53 here, as we’ve been socked in the clouds all day long.
  14. 48 with light rain falling. An additional .18” of rain, bringing the two-day total to .38”.
  15. Very raw here. Yards and fields hanging onto random patches of snow, otherwise just piles remaining.
  16. 41 and .2” of rain has fallen thus far. Not expecting anything white down here anytime soon.
  17. I believe snow depth is to be reported as an average. I.E. if half your yard has 3 inch depth and half is bare you would report a snow depth of 1.5". @Cashtown_Coop can verify Yep, yard was full and solidly covered when I left for work this morning. My backyard faces ESE but lies on a NW-facing slope. Also have some tall trees around the perimeter that provide ample shade, but even the parts that aren't shaded were holding strong. Tomorrow morning will be a different story ha.
  18. Low of 36 here with no sign of any precip. Don’t think we’ll get a whole lot of rain down this way over the next couple of days. Snowpack should hold until tomorrow.
  19. I appreciate the concern but I am a Packers fan. It’s the thought that counts though! Haha
  20. Looks like we're likely to have a couple days at the end of the week where the max min records are in play. #MildNights
  21. Haha of course they did. Low of 15 here. We knocked back that departure to only 2.4 AN at MDT but the next week or so looks to shoot it back up, albeit not as extreme as where it was. These mild overnight lows will kill the average. National high of 72 at like six places in southern Florida and low of -19 at good ‘ol Davis, WV.
  22. That’s one of the spots we like to frequent while in Hershey for the state wrestling tournament. Really like their offerings.
  23. Low of 21. Pretty broken up about the Packers over here. Didn’t expect them to win and obviously have exceeded all expectations for the season, but once you’re in it and really feel like you outplayed a team…..damn. In the eternal motto of the sports fan, there’s always next year.
