Fact is every team in the division is facing a daunting last 3 games, so if I squint really hard I can see this scenario. And winning the division gives us a home playoff game against another fringe playoff team, because let’s face it, everyone in the AFC except the Chiefs is a fringe playoff team.

You can certainly convince me that they can beat teams they’ve already beaten, again. But that tie against Detroit really hurts, as it renders all of the tie breaking scenarios moot, and winning 2 of 3 would have to come with a fair amount of help.

Forgot all about that nonsense, and completely agree. That said, fairly early in the stink bug invasion, one got into the TV behind the screen and you could see it while watching hockey (or anything else). I’m pretty sure it was alive in there, so it even moved! Don’t know how many times I confused that bastard(i) with the puck.

Thing is, 6 of the 7 wins have come against other teams in the playoff hunt. But so have all 6 losses. Incredible that Chicago and Detroit are the only teams we’ve played or will play this year that aren’t in the playoff hunt. Everyone else we’ve played or is currently on our schedule is .500 or better.

The best thing that can happen is for the team to win out and get into the playoffs, IMO. But we know that’s not going to happen, and they don’t control their own destiny because of the two blowout losses to Cincy. I think the impending loss to KC should put a fork into any outside shot at the playoffs.

Normally the weather in Kansas City is one of the first things on my mind, but I hadn’t looked at it until now. And we’re complaining about ours?

Just need one more win so the Tomlin no losing season streak can continue and we can hear about it for another year, but I don’t see any way it happens in KC.

Never been an NBA fan and college football is losing my interest somewhat (especially during bowl season), but definitely a fan of the others (even if my teams are mediocre in those).

True, and 3 of them were planned anyway. I’ll still be able to watch hockey for the remaining week and a half of GFS pain.

I wish I could go back in time and tell the 12/31/2020 version of myself that I’d be on a weather forum posting about the Palouse and the Steelers punter on the day of the winter solstice. Would have definitely tempered my hopes for what kind of year it was going to be.

I agree with the sentiment, especially given what it costs to attend a sporting event these days. I grapple with that when it comes to what these players actually owe me (which is absolutely nothing if I’m watching at home, but it could be argued that it’s not nothing if I paid for a ticket).

Yeah, the Steelers made sure his dad got to see him play, possibly for the last time, and he got to see his son get booed. I’ve been guilty of it at sporting events in the past (mostly directed toward refs), but I’ll think twice before ever doing it again. Time will tell if Pressley Harvin is an NFL caliber punter, but you just never know what someone is going through as a human being.

After hearing about Harvin’s dad being terminally ill and near death, I’m inclined to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. Not that the fans knew, but that booing looks really ugly now.

Was actually looking at some stats yesterday on this (for PIT), and just did the same for MDT. Looks like MDT dropped to 22 today, the lowest of the season to date and quite possibly the lowest it’ll see before the new year. In MDT/Harrisburg’s history, this has happened 6 other times: 2015 (low of 25 through 12/31), 1923 (24), 1984 and 1918 (23), and 2012 and 1931 (22).
