  1. This isn’t going to be a popular post, but if it’s going to be basically 100 degrees next week maybe we can get a 2/24/19 type wind event with the cutter.
  2. 2018 was like that for sure. Then 2020 and 2021 it made a return in April and May when it really wasn’t worth it.
  3. Even good winters end like this these days. Look at last year. Also, it’s too late to salvage February. The end of the month is already almost in GFS/GEFS range without many signs of the torch letting up significantly after it arrives next week.
  4. To an extent I agree. What looked like a promising stretch in February now looks like a shutout pattern. It’s more the idea that lately, spring here seems to come before the end of February more often than it doesn’t. The February heatwave of 2017 comes to mind, but I’d say even last year we were into spring starting the last week of February, and that was in a good February.
  5. If I were trolling you on Reddit, you think I’d be obvious about it?
  6. It was less snow for people to be too lazy to shovel off of their sidewalks, walkways, outdoor steps, etc., which made life infinitely easier for some friends of mine who are gig economy workers, if that’s a silver lining.
  7. Euro is trending toward one of our famous February heatwaves for the second half of next week. Verbatim it’s temps in the 60s and dewpoints pushing 60.
  8. This is going to age poorly. I’ll be shocked if PIT doesn’t hit 50 today. Already at 46.
  9. This is the complaint thread. I could see February going either way, but it’s been such a warm month in recent years that the warm trend on the models has me skittish.
  10. It’s all good, our three week winter seems like it’s over, so now on to spring.
  11. Ens means are looking awfully ridgy in the long range. Could we be headed for a third straight early spring and 5th out of the last 7?
  12. Can’t wait until we’re inside the 18-24 contour and we get like 16.5.
  13. Was 2011 really our last 6” event in February? Last year doesn’t count, as the February portion of that 1/31-2/2 event did not reach 6”.
  14. Forecast should have never been a foot given that everyone but the NWS seemed to know there would be p-type and dry slotting issues.
  15. It’s hard to rule out the idea that you were secretly rooting for it to bust.
  16. It was all fun and games until I was hiding in my basement that night in October. To my knowledge, first time I’ve been inside the polygon in PA.
  17. I apologize, I shouldn’t have sent out the bat signal.
  18. I would think he’s saying his 7” fell in more than 12 hours, so he didn’t get 6” in any 12 hour period or 8” in any 24 hour period. I don’t like his argument but I know what he’s saying.
  19. I mean fine, but 6-9” over ~18 hours is getting a warning slapped on it 100 times out of 100 even if the low end doesn’t technically meet criteria.
