  1. That’s the problem, he’ll get bogged down in some other sort of off-field distraction before he gets his chance. Mason Rudolph didn’t have a bad night, but it was a typical Mason Rudolph night (8/9, 77 yards, no points on the board, no spark). Much rather have a QB that can lead the offense down the field.
  2. Not to detract from the weather matters at hand, and skip this post if you don’t want to read about sports or the Steelers, but two words: Dwayne Haskins.
  3. Winter is just inherently better, when everyone is on the same team. Apologies if I ever made fun of you for wanting heat.
  4. Interesting, the one in this subforum never did that.
  5. It’s complicated, and I think I’ve discussed my position on this before. When I say I like severe, I don’t mean I want an EF-5 tornado to rip through downtown Pgh. I like a nice thunderstorm with wind every now and again. Not the kind of wind that snaps large trees in half, but I don’t mind seeing tree branches and limbs laying around after a good storm. Would love to see a tornado in the flesh just once before I die, but not in a populated area and certainly not in my backyard. There are severe weather fans all over these forums and most of them are probably not sociopaths. What form of weather that I don’t like causes more deaths than any other? I don’t agree with people who like it, but I don’t fault them either. I know no one is rooting for death. Everyone has their preferences.
  6. On the one hand, yes. On the other hand, severe weather without flash flooding happens all the time.
  7. People root for flash flooding? I’m not sure I know of many.
  8. Didn’t research it much, but I’m sure PW values are off the charts. But in general, very hard to predict let alone nail down a location.
  9. This summer has been incredible. Tons of storms, lots strong to low-end severe, very limited destruction so far. No ridiculous prolonged heat. A below normal July with no 90s.
  10. Still time, but I think we’re at risk of a proper 89ing. You’ll never hear me complain about that.
  11. Highest 5-min obs through 3:00 was still 88. Still should be able to get to 90.
  12. Yeah, someone messed up when they created the system where work provides the money required to sustain those other things.
  13. I think I saw something in the MD about values of 3000+ possible from Pittsburgh northeastward through central PA this afternoon.
  14. 12:30 update from the SPC upped the risk to ENH for areas Pittsburgh and north.
  15. And here comes the first round of thunderstorms to make 90 even harder to reach.
  16. Should be some clearing this afternoon, but I agree, our chances of tying or breaking a record seem very slim. Need 10+ degrees from 11:30. Max at PIT so far is 83. It probably isn’t impossible to pick up 7 degrees this afternoon, but I would think 11 is a bridge too far, even if we had full clearing.
  17. Remember when summer at least ended in August, and September wasn’t more gates of hell? Oh wait, that belongs in another subforum too.
  18. And here I thought a temp swing from 67 to 100 could only happen in Pillow.
  19. I talk about weather in my home subforum, which doesn’t have a covid thread, so where else am I going to talk about covid?
