  1. All of my power tools/chainsaw/weed whacker/hedge trimmer are battery powered(milwaukee brand). My riding mower and push mower are still gas, but hope to switch over soon. As far as the vehicles, I think the plug in hybrid is the way to go for now, at least until the charging infrastructure changes. I test drove the new Sorento plugin-hybrid was fun and on my short list.
  2. All rake here, I have 2 kids capable of raking...I rake the heavily accumulated areas, then bag mulch the rest with the mower so I can add them to my compost and garden beds.
  3. 48⁰ with some sun and a breeze, feels like a typical November day....just saw this though, they seem a bit confused.
  4. I agree... I am actually in the need for an AWD vehicle to fit the Brady bunch. Used cars are priced like new cars and you can't find a decent new car that you don't have to special order at a premium price. Kicker is I want something that doesn't guzzle gas, so the chip shortage is hindering things quite a bit.
  5. All the more reason to stick with the basic needs and screw the rest of the "stuff". Unfortunately these supply issues have/will trickle into the basic needs department. Honestly, my kids do not need this season's Barbie nor do I need the newest Iphone or 8k tv...Honestly the environment needs senseless consumerism to take a backseat for quite some time.
  6. Wind on the backside ftl, power out for the first time since we moved in last summer....
  7. SVR Thunderstorm Watch up for the entire region....
  8. Another morning in the 20s, 23.7⁰ for the low....sun is out, not a cloud in the sky. Oaks holding strong here, the red maples let go yesterday...still quite a bit of leaves on the trees though. Took this yesterday.
  9. 71.2⁰ for the high today, amazing day to get out and hike....
  10. Only made it down to 28.8⁰ last night, but still a solid frost on everything. 7 days in a row of lows in the 20s
  11. 26.8⁰ to 69.1⁰ today, amazing! Already down to 35.8⁰...
  12. I did, just had them installed the end of July so I missed the best production months earlier in the season.
  13. It has been great for solar production, it feels like it has been cloudy/hazy/smokey since the beginning of July....
  14. I find microclimates quite fascinating as well.....20.7° for the low this morning and the lowest so far this season. The last 5 mornings: 28.0°, 22.6°, 22.5°, 21.2°, and 20.7°. The afternoon highs have averaged 54°.
  15. 21.2⁰ for the low, 3 straight days in the low 20s....where is the snow?
  16. yup, might be the first teens of the year....22 degrees the past 2 mornings, already down to 32.5° without a cloud or breeze in sight
  17. 22.5° of fake this morning....feels real when taking the dog out before the sun rises
  18. 22.6°, ground frozen solid....testing out the new wood stove insert the past 2 nights, still 61 to 63 degrees in the house despite not reloading past midnight. Haven't used an mL of oil yet
  19. I do, my heating bill hurts from it...32.5⁰ now, we hit 28.2⁰ this morning, at this rate we will hit that by midnight
  20. What a pit here, already down to 35.4⁰....
  21. There are a few out there at the moment, down to 37.6⁰
  22. Growing season is coming to an end tonight. Picked the rest of the green tomatoes, cut all of the remaining flowers to enjoy inside. Last week we hit 31.5 with some ice on the normal items, but very little died, even the tomato plants survived. Tonight has a different feel to it, already down to 40.6°.
  23. Crazy...39.5⁰ this morning, might as well hit the beach today
  24. It was for like 15 minutes....it ended up a double too, I have never seen a rainbow so vivid, must have been the time of day
