  1. I am beginning to think I am the jinx for this area, moved here December of 2014. Despite 2015 being great, we were definitely shafted in the SW area. At least I got to cash in on the 2009/10 winter living in Northern Delaware. In 2016, my home town in Millersville, PA got burried in the blizzard. Now this year....The melt is being driven by countless family members sending me photos of the Millersville area looking wintry, while we sit with bare ground. Except for our "icestorm", every snowfall they have had has exceeded expectations/forecasts and my friends and family love to rub that in.... I know, it came out wrong, but in this winter an all snow 1-3 inch snowfall is a storm in perspective, lol.
  2. Lol at the Euro turning next weekend into a northern mid atlantic snowstorm, can't script this winter any better....what a rat for SNE
  3. I think thats the most frustrating part...The initial push kept us from a couple inches last night, now today's push of dry air will push south hard enough to keep the nice overrunning snowfall from occurring, like what southern PA and NJ will see. Then the dam will break, flooding our region with warm air aloft like a tsunami. Giving us a couple hours of snow before we taint, going to rain over most of the SNE region... Just a frustrating winter overall, hopefully we make up for it with a nice blizzard for all before it is over.
  4. I will take that GFS and be happy...I totally expect 2-5 inches of snow, sleet/freezing rain for a few hours, followed by 2-4 hours of rain for here.
  5. Day 10 Euro has a "bowling ball"/re-developer that looks like fun, things definitely look active, hopefully we remain on the right side of things...
  6. The high on this run looked more expansive this run, this with a slightly weaker primary led to everything looking a bit more squashed in nature. Maybe a bit of a push from a slight, well timed -NAO?
  7. Euro is a bit icy down this way, it does remind me of a few weeks ago in regards to that....it is even colder down here to start
  8. Gfs bring us all back in....that is a good 4-8 inches from DC to Boston with some drizzle to end it. Sign me up
  9. Since November 1st I have had 13.0" of snow and 22.04" of rain.....unreal
  10. I think snow goggles went on right after the snow in November...I usually do not have them on, but after getting 8 inches + hearing all of the forecasts for cold and snowy 200%+ in snowfall for the area, they were on. But reality started to set in and patience wore out, thus leading to the melts and attitude seen on the boards over the past few weeks...On that note, the GFS is cutter, followed by cutter, followed by cutter........
  11. 100% chance of bare, frozen ground along with a 50% chance of ice quakes.....
  12. Sorry, meant it more as a chuckle than as a Debbie....
  13. and somehow at 162 hours, the GFS will nail the forecast....This winter can't end soon enough, lol
  14. Well the GFS for next week is what this winter has been, snows in the south but the timing allows for us to either whiff or rain...
  15. And some how next week will find a way to snow in the Mid Atlantic leaving us with Monday's dustings and a few days of frigid air...only to repeat a few days later
  16. I admit that it has been tough, but things are looking better next week. Canada is frigid and looks to remain that way for sometime and the steady stream of moisture is still there. It's not like it is bone dry or roasting....
  17. Until I am shoveling more than 3 inches of snow, I wont believe anything. I have had a total of 5 inches since November 15th, if it were up to the models, even the EURO I would have had 70 inches by now. I would take a SWFE at this point and be happy....
  18. It looks like another one lining up right afterwards...could be quite the active period coming up....
  19. Kind of beautiful, just 6 days to go....something has to give right?
  20. So we have the EURO hugging and the GFS doing the GFS thing offshore with a crazy Norlun...we might actually have something this time....
  21. GFS has a SWFE, nothing like the EURO....If it shows something similar then maybe we have something, the EPS wasn't too excited either....we shall see
  22. This season it seems the EURO has one of those solutions where the Kuchera shows a widespread 12-24 inches storm for a run or two, the GFS is warm and wet and eventually the EURO loses it and we rain...63 feels great outside
  23. I agree, let's keep it warm until Friday...Hoping to go out on top the last few weeks of the winter. There is at least a glimmer of hope coming from the EURO and other pieces of guidance for next week. But we know how that has gone this year...
  24. Is this a similar situation even down here like the last one? Most models had us getting well above freezing, but in the end 32.5 was all we could get to. We ended up with 30% of our town without power from that storm, prefer not to repeat that. I think we had about .4" accretion...
  25. Hit 64 here! It was 80 in the greenhouse, sauna in there. Garlic sprouted in there last week despite the frigid temps outside, the sun is now doing its dirty work...
