  1. Perhaps you should have a discussion with Mdecoy where you explore what would be considered a normal number of early panics in your normal winter. Not sure if you should use the mean, median, mode.
  2. Measured 3.25” in downtown Funchester. Once out of town, n and w, I’m sure totals will be slightly higher.
  3. Dry air can be a good thing when temps are sketchy.
  4. If the HRRR is right then I’ll trust it in the future. But if it’s wrong I’m never looking at it again. It’s really on an island all by itself.
  5. Can somebody post the 0z and 6z euro for comparisons. Thanks
  6. Was thinking the same thing. Fail potential is high on this one.
  7. For me it’s easy. In one month, give me the 10 2”s. That’s a snow every third day. Give me January. Snow will last, develop a solid snow cover. Be a great wintry month. Throw in temps about 5 below avg for my month and it would be incredible
  8. Interesting that the precip trajectory, or at least on the snow maps for the NAM’s changed to more ne to sw from the earlier w to e tilt. They also expanded the heavier precip a good deal to the nw.
  9. 18z euro? Or are they still on daylight savings time?
  10. What we are getting is nothing like what that map shows. This may be the smallest storm I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen thunderstorm complexes bigger lol
  11. Looks like the SREF is a little wetter if you can read those god awful ncep maps
  12. I’m certainly no sounding expert but I would think with heavy precip those cold temps just above the surface get pulled down quickly.
  13. Those morning temps look cold. We get a good cloud deck in here early and I’ll bet the temps bust ... they end up lower than forecast.
  14. So it’s gonna rain behind the system with temps below 32? LOL at these maps sometimes
  15. Right after the Euro cuts precip totals in half.
  16. That isn’t a uniform trend. Seems specific only to the area between DC and Hagerstown
  17. I wonder which is more likely. Might have to wait to see how the radar develops. My gut says precip from that direction tends to arrive a bit earlier than is forecast. We shall see
