    Drove over to the place in WV today and it was spectacular, all the way from Winchester.

    Why it happens is irrelevant when it comes to trying to predict its effects in our region come winter. Ill be the first to say that I know jack shit about it, but I feel this is a good stance to take … it’s way to complex to think you’re gonna predict weather at 2-4 months using one factor alone.

    Lots of uncertainty and volatility with regard to next weekend. Won’t be surprised if some models spit out a real storm over the next couple of days

    That’s what I felt yesterday … just a little less progressive and there’s gonna be a storm. I think @Amped had a pretty good comparison with Oct 2011. God help us if the rest of the winter compares to that year.

    It’s there on the gfs as well just not as defined. The flow is a bit progressive. If it buckles a bit that could be a more significant storm.

    Was just looking at the h5 maps from the gfs for next Friday evening. Lol. The gfs is literally all over the place. Look at its solution from 18z yesterday and backwards, and then compare it to the runs since. Looks like model runs from two different years. If you’re gonna use the gfs for forecasting at days 7-10, good luck.
