    I agree with stores being closed on Thanksgiving. I can’t see how anyone would be hurt. You wanna open at midnight that same night, no problem, but everyone should have the chance to be off that day. Many here can’t remember the time that after midnight in most areas not even gas stations were open. And in many places in Virginia nothing was open on Sunday.

    That is probably a big issue. I understand the UHI issue and it’s a big one but I think the water issue is huge too. I think comes into play with the Boston and New York just getting their first freeze. For me, and it’s no biggie to me, if DCA wants to have weather data that is representative of DC, then that temp sensor needs to be as far from the water as possible.

    We just can’t know yet. Waiting on better data. It’s currently over Egypt. Should be on shore by tomorrow night. Lots will change. Just happy to be in the game.

    GFS had this same feature just a couple of days ago but I think it had it on Sunday. Have to wait for good data once all players are on the field

    I saw this on several media outlets and was thinking WTF, that’s a long way away to make such a bold prediction. I think one was titled “massive storm to affect holiday travel” and I know it was in one of the DC outlets.

    Good thing the national media alerted the whole country to the storm that was gonna totally disrupt the holiday. Good idea to do it about 10 days prior also. Everyone knows how reliable weather models and forecasting is 10 days out.
