Thanks for the kind words. Also good to hear you're doing so well. So far it's been a classic case of the flu for me: 1. Very run down for a few days wondering why my workouts are so crappy. 2. Whole body starts aching and feels like I'm 110yo with arthritis. Also have weird dreams and night sweats. This started two days ago. 3. Cough starts and headache too. This started today. So basically a textbook flu for me, just a really amplified one. Next will be the sore throat and stuffy nose. I never get fevers for whatever reason. I am fortunate enough to have a very well equipped basement gym so I don't even go to the actual gym anymore. But for sure I won't be doing any workouts for a while other than gentle stretching and foam rolling. I'm retired from competition now anyway, I just lift for fun at the old age of 40.

Thanks, it really is miserable. Mostly it's just these crazy acute joint and muscle aches. And last night I had crazy sweaty sick dreams, I dreamed I was in the movie Predator as one of the soldiers. It was eerily accurate too.

Good for him I guess. I definitely wouldn't be able to play football this Sunday though. The joint and muscle aches are out of this world and I'm a former competitive bodybuilder so I don't consider myself a slacker.

I was diagnosed with covid today. It sucks, big-time. You don't want it. ETA, although so far i'd take COVID + December 2009 vs no covid and no snow though. Anything less than 18" though, forgettaboutit.

I swear if I read anything more about a threat in the d7-d10 range being taken seriously I'm going to flip out and see the reaper. Ah shoot, too late for that. Is there a secret lvl2 panic room?

This winter is horseshit. At least last winter was warm and I could open my windows. This winter kicks dirt in the face because it's relatively cold yet still no snow.

I'll take the V16 for next week's storm.

My wife, who cares none for weather, actually had a dream last night where her and I were prepping for a big snowstorm and I was talking about how the MJO wasn't lined up right and we were waiting for the Euro to run for new maps to help with our preps.

By quite a few metrics, Southern Maryland is already in the very northern range of "humid subtropical" climate. So we're probably ahead of the curve relative to the rest of the DMV. Just an ominous warning that this is what lies in store for most of the MA forum in the next decade....

Yeah it had us with like 12" snow and we ended up with 2" rain. I'll take the CMC more seriously when it scores a coup someday. $10 is better than $5 but it's still nothing to brag about.

I wouldn't mind living in S Florida. Lots of cool wildlife and unique habitat. Myself, living right up on the coast of the western shore in Calvert County even over the past 15yrs I've witnessed large changes due to sea level rise. We have a lot of lowland swampy forest dominated by red maples. Over time the brackish water floods the ground water and you have huge tree die offs because they can't handle the salty conditions. Eventually I assume cypress will take over these areas but probably not on a time frame I will live to see. Even in the low portions of the forest on my property are changing. I have a natural spring that feeds a stream that used to only flow in winter and barely any water at that. Over the past 10yrs the stream is now year-round and flows more like a small river in winter. Erosion has lowered the streambed by 2-3ft just in the past five years, sort of like a mini grand canyon. Soon I expect the red maples will start to die off and it will become open swamp.

I wouldn't bet on that.. I've long thought that this is how GW plays out. Initially there's a golden period of snowstorms as the warming oceans provide the energy but there's still enough cold on the playing field. We've seen that the past 10-20yrs around here and especially up into NE. Then as the background state continues to warm you start to lose the snow and end up with rain. This will be the case for a decade or so until the next phase as subtropical conditions continue to move north and winter as we know and love it ceases to exist. I wish we'd just get to that point already so we didn't have to put up with all this cold rain anymore.

Sorry, it ain't happening. Face it we aren't getting any major snow this year. In fact, the sun is out full force today and I can already tell its angle is increasing. Countdown til spring has commenced....
