    I've seen them winter backpacking in the Dolly Sods. But yes I agree they're elusive. It's a challenge I'm up for.

    Nope, it's all mine. Well and the deer and bear and bobcats. Now to be clear...my wife paid for it (hattip @stormtracker). But behind every private equity titan woman is a captive man. So yeah, it's mine.

    I just bought 170 acres on the Allegheny front. Max elevation on the property is 3010ft. Next winter expect me to be posting copious pics of uplift snow.

    Ok about my earlier post...I need to rephrase. I wish one of the mets other than DT or JB would lock in a storm 5 days out.

    It seems like every meteorologist hedges every storm six ways to Sunday. There's always some complicating factors that make this or that storm special and impossible to know what's going to happen because the setup is just so complicated every single time. I dream of the day when there's a storm 5 days out and the Mets say "oh this one is easy, blizzard in DC in 5 days, lock it in".

    Actually her company has a celebrity box at the Superbowl so she gets to go to that. And no, family members aren't invited. Burn it all down.

    I bought a bunch of Japanese Wagyu for some friends to have over on super bowl Sunday. Being selfish I'd prefer to just keep it all for my wife and I so I hope there's a big snow that gives me an excuse to cancel the event.

    Now to be clear....it's not possible to ever truly be happy with the snow you get. Even in 09-10 I wanted more. But come march I want warm weather. My pepper plants are 2" tall already.

    Yeah we got jackpotted early on which is always nice. According to NOAA I got 15" on that storm. That's why you won't see me complaining for the rest of this winter. I even see a little bit of green on my petunias....

    Yeah we had the worst snowstorm here in 20yrs at least so there's no complaining. I'm ready for spring at this point. Some folks always get fringed, that's the name of the game.

    It's like I said, winter is over after the next week. We can't complain, we had an awesome January this year.

    Man my parents are under a WSW from now until Thursday night in Michigan for up to 16" of snow. I'm jealous.

    I just bought a meteorology textbook so I could start to lay down knowledge, if that's not pathetic enough. Looking forward to dels and curls and atmospheric calculus. I'm a loser.

    Good, maybe the realtor will get the road cleared to the stupid property so I can give them my money. Give me a week without snow please. Seller does not seem particularly motivated.

    Was outside walking the dog a few mins ago and the sun angle was so high my vitamin D levels doubled in five minutes. It's over.

    Glad you guys out east got some action, so many times you miss out. We got about 5" in Huntingtown which easily cleans our Climo avg for the year with the storm two weeks ago. All in all a solid winter here.
