  1. feels like we've been stuck in this pattern for ages though i know the city got lucky and got 2" of rain back in january
  2. And to think we're neighbors, too, so we can suffer together.
  3. No, I agree with your overall sentiment, I'm just one of the few who wants it to snow whenever it can no matter how long it lasts. Obviously, I prefer 6" or more that stays on the ground for a few weeks, at least, but desperate times......we'll probably overperform on the Thursday night/Friday morning clipper solely because it will all melt a few hours later. That has happened twice to me this winter. Melting snow is truly one of the most depressing things for me. Everyone goes on about SAD in the winter meanwhile I have SAD from April through November.
  4. Just 5 days ago the CPC predicted BN temps and normal precip for the month of February. lol
  5. I'm not over the cold (never will be), but agree I'd risk warmer weather if it meant some actual moisture, some of which actually falls as snow. We need the moisture regardless, but rain right now is not going to be soaked into the ground, unfortunately.
  6. Light at the end of the tunnel? Are you fucking kidding me?
  7. January goes down as the least snowiest month of the 25-26 winter (so far) here. November was the snowiest. Damn wind drifted what little snow we had leaving large patchy areas. My backyard is protected by trees, shrubs, and a fence so it looks much nicer than the south-facing front lawn where the wind has free reign.
  8. We've been dry for months on end and have had dry conditions all but one summer in the past 5 with severe drought at times. Not sure why you think it'll be any different in April.
  9. January will end up the least snowy month of the season in my backyard with November the most. It's been downhill since the Thanksgiving weekend storm.
  10. I think we all know that isn't the case on here. There's a reason I rarely post.
  11. The January 2024 GFS hadn't been DOGEd.
  12. Yes, but it's replacement is horrible too.
  13. NAM does not have a wheelhouse.
  14. It's dangerous to rely on the GFS at any range.
  15. Got 2.3" total yesterday between the two events. Grass completely covered and perfect when I went to bed and then that wind kicked in. Now I can see grass in my front yard, so we better keep reeling this storm in.
  16. Biggest snowstorm I've personally encountered that did not involve lake effect/enhancement was 17" on March 4-5, 2015 in Kentucky. I just happened to be visiting family at the right time. March most definitely has the "juice" - but sun angle and temps coming together with the juice is what is more difficult to achieve.
