  1. I personally, have no interest in the wind. I much prefer heavy snow with zero wind. Of course, if there was so much snow that even the low places were still well-covered, it'd be okay.
  2. Welp, when you've only got the NAM on your side, you know you're f*cked. Glad the GFS could do us the same favor as the NE.
  3. Feast or famine. Yeah, they can get big ones that we'll never get since we don't have a nice big ocean right next to us, but they've also had years recently where they barely had any snow at all. I'd love to experience a big noreaster just once for the hell of it, but I'd take an average UP winter over anywhere tbh.
  4. But you promised it was going to be a Southern WI banger.
  5. It shit the bed with the prior storm, which the Euro nailed. It's hard to trust any model these days tbh.
  6. We only got .03" of rain and flurries. The drought goes on.
  7. Definitely too early, even for crocuses, which are typically the first spring flower to bloom. I see what appears to be a step in the background, I assume they are close to a structure? I definitely have some popping up, I noticed on Monday, but they're next to my house on the south-facing side, so not terribly surprised.
  8. Probably as good as we're going to get going forward. Next winter already looks like a nightmare with el nino. Only positive in a warming planet is the occasional monster storm, but lengthy periods with a solid snowpack in northern illinois are increasingly unlikely.
  9. SLC has had 0.1" all winter, so I guess we should just be grateful (though I find it incredibly hard).
  10. We definitely lucked out on a few of them, barely got 6" the whole month of January and the wind blew half of it away. Probably ended up in Michigan as per usual.
  11. Just under an inch of fluff with light snow still falling.
  12. If Michigan and/or Wisconsin were safer for LGBTQ people, I would. Unfortunately, I have to be concerned about my civil rights moreso than the weather.
  13. feels like we've been stuck in this pattern for ages though i know the city got lucky and got 2" of rain back in january
  14. And to think we're neighbors, too, so we can suffer together.
  15. No, I agree with your overall sentiment, I'm just one of the few who wants it to snow whenever it can no matter how long it lasts. Obviously, I prefer 6" or more that stays on the ground for a few weeks, at least, but desperate times......we'll probably overperform on the Thursday night/Friday morning clipper solely because it will all melt a few hours later. That has happened twice to me this winter. Melting snow is truly one of the most depressing things for me. Everyone goes on about SAD in the winter meanwhile I have SAD from April through November.
  16. Just 5 days ago the CPC predicted BN temps and normal precip for the month of February. lol
  17. I'm not over the cold (never will be), but agree I'd risk warmer weather if it meant some actual moisture, some of which actually falls as snow. We need the moisture regardless, but rain right now is not going to be soaked into the ground, unfortunately.
  18. Light at the end of the tunnel? Are you fucking kidding me?
