  1. Dropped all over though, correct. Not just our area? Or was it showing much lower totals? At least it's the GFS, lol.
  2. 18z HRRR not looking too good. Onset of storm is pretty warm (35-36 degrees).
  3. A 6"-9" storm is pretty good, and to get two in December, is impressive. Here's hoping, anyway.
  4. I noticed that the UK was gradually giving us higher totals the last few days. Started near 0 and has moved around 2".
  5. They had that up briefly yesterday and there call was 2". Good progress. But the high end to low end range is 8" down to 0". That would be brutal.
  6. One thing that is refreshing is not really having to worry about mixing issues. I know it's not that kind of storm, but still. Also, has the energy been sampled yet by the models?
  7. I'm getting excited, and I know I shouldn't, lol! I'm still realistic, but the possibility is interesting. I'm overall still sticking with 2-4".
  8. You're not kidding. Isn't NAM getting near it's wheelhouse? SREF Plumes are at 8.25" mean!
  9. That recent NAM run was crazy, even the one before was nice. I know it is near the end of it's range so, grain of salt and all, but the trend is nice. Euro looks pretty nice as well. Good trends today. Let's keep it up! Also, Ron Smiley, on KDKA, this morning mentioned this could be "the big one", but wouldn't commit to giving totals right now. Says there's a lot on the table. Maybe he looked a the NAM?
  10. I actually just thought last night, looking out at the sky, there has been a remarkable lack of thunderstorms this year. I don't remember this few storms here. Very weird.
  11. That's a screw job I'm ok with, lol! Now in winter, with snow, it's unacceptable, ha!
  12. Anyone else notice a lot of leaves changing and falling already? I assume it's due to the dry and hot conditions lately, but still a bit odd to see leaves dropping in brown and orange on August 4th.
  13. Feels Fall-like out there. Big change. Gets you looking forward to that weather in about 4-6 weeks or so.
  14. Interesting record we're approaching in Pittsburgh. Looks like as long as the highs hit 80 through Friday, Pittsburgh will have hit 80 degrees all 31 days of July. Checked the NWS page and found that this would be the first time since 1955 that has happened, and only the 3rd time in Pittsburgh weather history. The other time being 1878 (before the reporting site moved out of the City). Pretty impressive. Plus, this would only be the 3rd month to ever have all its days reach 80 (August has only gotten to 30 days).
  15. Dew point peaked at 76 earlier! Luckily it was only 81 at the time, but still crazy.
  16. We actually, in my area had our first rain since June 28th. The airport, hasn't seen any yet, we hit 93 officially today.
  17. Unfortunately, I have no pool near by and no community pools open, plus just room air conditioners. There will be a little skill to staying cool.
  18. Our record is 13 straight days (1988). We definitely won't break that record, but wonder if the monthly 90 degree record could be in jeopardy (17, July 1988)?
  19. This heat wave has proved itself to me in Pittsburgh. Officially hit 90 today, fifth day in a row. Was 94 yesterday, but the dew point was about 56, so, it wasn't too bad. We've been very lucky to have generally low dew points the entire time. A few spikes here and there, think it peaked around 68 one morning, usually falls to near 60 or lower later. Today, is the best chance of rain we've had in 8 days, and that's not even guaranteed. Also, looks like next week the heat returns. Could we have a record hot July?
