  1. Seems Pittsburgh will underachieve again, as usual. Looks like official readings stopped at 89. Maybe there's an inter hour 90+ reading, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make it. Made it to 88 just before noon, so it seemed like a slam dunk 92-94 degree day, but in true fashion the airport measurement doesn't move after that. Probably best to expect to come up short by 3-4 degrees from forecasted highs for this heat wave for my area. Usually, how it is anyway. It's weird because everywhere else around the area will touch at least 90 on days like this, but the airport rarely does. I think something is wrong with the measurement device. Also, I think they're observed weather is always off. Many times it will say the day is mostly cloudy, when it very clearly is clear or mostly sunny everywhere, with the satellite showing no clouds. I think that's why they classify Pittsburgh as very cloudy, the official recordings are always off.
  2. I know in my area, the Euro has put out a few 95-97 degree readings early next week.
  3. By normally underachieving, I mean as observations for years and years, not just this year, lol!
  4. That's what I am hoping for, low humidity with this heat. It makes all the difference.
  5. I've been wondering, because May and June ended nearly 4" below average here. It's been great, but definitely dry. Yesterday we were expected to hit 85 or 86, but popped up to 88. In Pittsburgh it is unusual to overachieve on summer temps. Usually if we are forecast to hit 90 or 91 we usually stop at 88 or 89. Yesterday we overachieved by two degrees, that's odd. Conversely, though, today was supposed to be around 86, but looks to fall short a few degrees. Having nearly 10 straight days at 90 to 91 seems kind of implausible since it is so consistent, so was wondering if maybe they are underestimating some of these highs.
  6. No one is really talking in the Pittsburgh forum, so I'll slide east a bit. Since it's been so dry, does anyone think the temperatures being advertised are underdone?
  7. Looks really hot on the models starting the end of this week. Multiple models had at least 5 days of consecutive 90+ heat. The Euro had multiple days hovering around 95-97! We'll see.
  8. Does anyone think with the relatively dry weather lately, we see increased heat during the rest of summer? Or do you think the pattern will revert back to excessively rainy?
  9. I really didn't hear anything either, saw one flash of lightning, but that was it. However, quite a few large branches were down around my area when I went on my walk today.
  10. First official 90 yesterday. Maybe gets there today, already around 80.
  11. Even the severe storms in my area, were luckily no more than just a brief downpour then showers and two rumbles of thunder. I'm okay with that. Anyway, looks HOT Tuesday and maybe Wednesday. I hope to hit 90, but I know our area really likes the number 89, so we'll see. Could reach 94 Tuesday!
  12. Personally, I'm happy to miss out on the storms. I like a good thunderstorm once in a while, but with how rainy the last couple years have been, I welcome the drier weather.
  13. Models are looking pretty warm for this upcoming week. From Sunday through Friday, looks like each day could hit 80. Tuesday to Thursday and maybe Friday, look the warmest (mid to upper 80s possible). Also, the incredible luck this area has had by missing a massive majority of the rain that Ohio and WV have had is bizarre and refreshing. That kind of stuff just does not seem to happen here, lol. Whatever shield is up can definitely stick around.
  14. Please no to any snow. It's too late in season for me. Now I'd rather high record highs rather than record lows.
  15. This is ridiculous. These patterns do not need to be showing up now! Wasteful snow, even if just flurries. Yesterday was beautiful, we need more of that sustained pattern, but no... Hopefully soon though.
  16. https://weather.com/forecast/national/news/2020-04-15-summer-2020-temperature-outlook-may-june-july-august We'll see they really whiffed on April in their forecast a few weeks ago.
  17. And 70s tomorrow and Friday. Too bad nobody can enjoy it properly.
  18. I really do not want to see this at all at this point. We didn't really have a winter, and I just don't want it in March. Hopefully, like the rest of the storms it will move north as times goes by. I'm ready for summer.
  19. Ready for the 60s Sunday and Monday and sun! I flip quickly, once March hits, bring on the warmth.
